I have a thing for changing my username. Ikaras -> narcoleptic dreaming -> Paper Parachutes Well hello everyone. Remember me? Didn't think so. :\ Just to refresh your memory, I was here a few months back with a project of mine called Affettuoso. Since my departure from fictionpress, it has been completed. So why do I bother show my face here again after all this time? Simple: I need feedback. So if it isn't too much trouble, could you look at what I put up? I'm looking for honest, clean-cut critique; constructive, not rude. And if you do, there's something in it for you as well. If you do so wish for your work to be critiqued, I will do my best to return the favor. Just let me know if that's what you want. Thanks so much for taking the time to read. Affettuoso (an Italian music term meaning: “with feeling”) The world is dying. That is certain. After the Impact—a catastrophic event that wiped out nearly half of the city—Madeleine has resigned herself to her home, doing all that she can to keep herself and her traumatized father alive. However, the city still seems to have one last thing to offer: the enigmatic Maestro. A silhouette garbed in strange clothes, the Maestro is known for his nightly performances, masterfully playing his violin as he walks up the sides of skyscrapers. Coincidence brings these two together one night, and Madeleine soon realizes that the Maestro’s music is more than what it seems. But as Madeleine tries to comprehend who and what the Maestro really is, something stirs in the Dead Quarter. Caught between the written and the untold, she listens as the Maestro nears his Finale. But there’s just one problem. She’s deaf. I WILL ONLY BE POSTING THE FIRST COUPLE OF CHAPTERS SINCE I FEEL I NEED THE MOST WORK ON THOSE. AFTER I FEEL I'VE GOTTEN SUFFICIENT FEEDBACK, THE CHAPTERS WILL BE REMOVED. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCES. | |||||||
