Author has written 5 stories for General, Fantasy, Fantasy, and War. Current Projects I'd Like You to Read: -"A Cure for Destiny" Fantasy, the world it's set in doesn't really have a name. The main characters are Calla (dog-girl), Lilea (human/wood faey), Chikra (???looks like human so far in the story, but don't be sure). Anyway, there isn't really a villain exactly at the heart of it, just some weird stuff that's been happening lately. I don't want to give away what happens later -"The Epic of Awsome Adventurers" This one's actually a lot of fun Hello everyone in internet land! As you already know, I have an account on fictionpress with the penname ShyFoxie. What you may know, although there's chance you might have guessed, is that I am in high school, just about to enter grade 12 as I write this (August 1, 2007), although I probably won't update this profile for a while (I'm lazy like that). As for interests, I like: cooking, video games, reading, writing, learning useless trivia, animals, martial arts (I have a red belt in taekwon-do) and the great outdoors (especially the mountains). I live in a small town in north-central Alberta, Canada with my mom and younger sister. I have a pet guinea pig (Cookie) and she has a pet rabbit (Fancy) that she named after a prostitute in a country song. I recently decided I like the band Marianas Trench quite a bit (I went to an outdoor concert at the fair and stood right up front by the stage) because I like their songs and the band members all seemed like really nice guys. The lead singer even signed my shoe. Anyway, I'll listen to pretty much any musical genre, it's individual songs that I like or dislike. I play the flute and sing soprano at school. My best subjects are usually English, Social Studies and various sciences, but my Math mark isn't far from my highest grade, so I seem to be a fairly well-rounded, strong student. I'm glad I don't have to take gym anymore, though; I'm short, have crappy aim and always seem to get hit in the head with something. I guess I'll probably write mostly fantasy, but that's probably because I've had the same cast of characters bouncing around in my head since grade seven, and I figure I had to write the story sometime (look at my story"A Cure for Destiny" for details). Anyway, I also like the idea of making up my own rules for reality, so I'm not sure how to write a perfectly realistic story, to be honest, and I don't know enough about a lot to write one, and my own surroundings aren't really that interesting. When I was younger I had a practically limitless interest in myths and legends, so by the time we did ancient Greece in grade 5, I could recite most of the Greek pantheon of gods and goddesses whenever that question came up and I also had read a bit about the Egyptians and Norse/Vikings (Fenrir scared me, to be honest). I started reading at a very early age, so I guess that's one reason I developed such a keen interest in the subject so soon. I still find old stories fascinating. I got a book from my grandparents, once, of seriously old-school children's stories, the kind of fairy tales that used to serve as bedtime stories before they were Disneyfied. I thought it was interesting that the Devil appeared in so many of them. I somehow don't see Disney creating too many movies featuring Satan. I don't know where that book has gone, though. Right now, I'm participating in a program that lets high school students work in the research labs at the University of Alberta over the summer. It's way better than the gas station I worked at last summer. | |||||||||||

The Siren reviewsI was just thinking how odd it is how even a reasonable person can still think "yeah, I'll go to war" even though they know that they could die. Kind of like the sailors drawn to the jagged rocks even though they might have heard stories about sirens.War - Fiction Rated: K - English - Poetry - Chapters: 1 - Words: 307 - Reviews: 2 - Updated: 12-29-08 - Published: 12-29-083.
