Je suis la Marquise d’Horreur. If you’ve seen me around here before, you might also know me as “that bitch”. In truth, I don’t think I’m that mean of a person; however, if you take an attitude with me, and I feel it is undeserved, don’t think I won’t defend myself. I’m a bit of a Grammar Nazi. I believe that people who claim to be writers should care about grammar, punctuation, and spelling. That doesn’t mean I will destroy you for a typo or two; however, if your story is severely lacking, I will tell you as much. I don’t flame: you’ll never see me say anything like “omg you suck take down your stories you should never write again”. But, I do believe in constructive criticism. I will very politely tell you if your story is hard to read, or needs help. Whether or not you choose to take my advice, I do not accept rudeness in response; I show the other writers on this site courtesy, and I expect it in return.

I am, of course, willing to take what I dish out. I love honest reviews. If you think my stuff sucks, by all means, tell me so. All I ask is that, if you have a complaint about me, personally, whether I have said or done something to offend you, or you think I belong in an institution due to my graphic prose, please message me about it. I’d be more than happy to answer any of your questions or concerns; I only wish that we not make it a public matter.

If you ever want an opinion on a story before you decide to submit it, or want someone to help you rework something, I’d be more than happy to help. I do write other things, and am knowledgeable in most genres; I just choose to exclusively post my horror, as I’m most proud of it.

You’ve been extremely patient in reading all this. Here’s a bit more info before you go:

Master

This story is not meant to promote violence, rape, any of that. It is meant solely as a cautionary tale, about how even the most gentlemanly guy can turn out to be a monster. I get carried away with the details sometimes, but that does not mean that I glorify the main character or his actions. The plot was inspired by something I saw on a BDSM forum once, about a man who lured in girls who were new to the scene and abused them. This is my most controversial story. I still question whether or not I should have posted it. But, I am not against BDSM and this is not a stab at people in the lifestyle; I’m also not a perverted man writing these things from his basement.

My Love is my favorite. I had been playing with the idea for a while, researched something called ‘erotomania’, and it took off from there. Death in the Shadows is the oldest story on here, and was written for my 10th grade English class; the challenge was to complete a story in 500 words or less. The Vampire at the Party…well...give it a try. It’s probably not what you expect.

Above all, I love the psychology behind different characters, exploring the way that crazy people, stalkers, rapists think. I also love playing with the idea that things aren't always what they seem : something that walks like a duck and quacks like a duck can turn out to be something quite different from a duck when night falls, when all pretenses are stripped away…
