Greetings fellow writers and storytellers. My name is Camalot777. If you're woundering how I got that name, I'm an Arthurian Legend fanatick. It was suposed to be Camelot777, but at the time I made up the name, I didn't know how to spell. Still don't.
I don't watch TV that often, or play video games for that matter. I live in a place where there there aren't a lot of people, so over the years I relied on myself for entertainment. I enjoy writing stories, acting in plays, watching plays, reading books, and running cross country.
Favorite Books: The Oz Books, Wicked, The Once and Future King, The Bartamous Trilogy, and The Children of the Lamp Series.
Favorite TV Shows/Movies: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Star Trek, Spongebob, Lord of the Rings, Merlin, Are You being Served, Keeping Up Apperances, Waiting For God, Monty Python, Wyane's World, and anything involving a hiddden or hinted meaning that makes you think.
When asking people for ideas for a story, people usually tell you to write about what you know. I don't agree with that. People don't grow as a writer that way. Instead, write the kind of story that you enjoy reading, even if you are sure that nobody will want to read it. I was afraid that nobody would want to read a story about genies, but they are a subject that I know quite a lot about. My story (Chris and Maridia) turned out to have plenty of people who liked it. So don't feel embarrased to write a story on a strange or "childish" topic. You as the writer have the duty of making the subject your own. If the topic doesn't intrest you 100 percent, then you need a differant topic.
Here are some of my philosophies...
-Have Spongebob-like enthusiasm in just about everything that you do.
-Stand up for what you believe in, even if nobody else does.
-The meaning of life is anyone or anything at all that is loved by you, and without love or passion, life does not have a meaning.
-It takes up more engergy to have a negative attitude than a positive one.
