I have writer's block, and it's horrible. Chapter 40 is sitting unfinished on my hard drive, and I just can't continue with the damn thing. I'm not going to abandon 'The Scarlet Flag' because all my delusions of grandeur are based around it, but it may be tough going for a while.
Thanks again to everyone who's kept with me.
As I'm starting to take this malarky seriously, I'd better write something substantial here. My real name's Luke Sanders. I'm 24 years old. I was, up until recently, a hospitality drone. I resigned from the industry for reasons I'd rather not get into: just be assured they comprise the usual sanctimonious rantings about corporate incompetence. I'm now training myself to proofread and copy-edit.
This is mainly a forum for my novel-in-progress - 'The Scarlet Flag' - and a few short stories I wrote during my university days. 'The Scarlet Flag' is a story of the frozen north: inspired by classic pulp fantasy, and American writers such as John Steinbeck and Jack London.
I am working on 'The Scarlet Flag' in a rather sociopathic manner. I'm dashing off the narrative with the intention of fleshing out the prose and details afterwards. I apologise if reads tersely - a few people have already called me on this and my prose tends towards the skeletal as it stands - I will take steps to correct this in time, so thank you for your patience! I am trying to update the story at least once every week. I'd like to be working faster, but life often gets in the way!
I hope my writing provides some entertainment. I could ask for nothing more.
I can be contacted at lukesanders1983@hotmail.co.uk
I also have a myspace page at www.myspace.com/lpsanders. I'm a bit of a musician on the side. (albeit a musician who can't sing, and can't play guitar) I have an account at www.mp3unsigned.com/Showband.asp?id=8258 which has 15 of my songs. It's updated pretty regularly as recording music has become a habit I have to indulge on a regular basis. I have to feed it the same way I feed my caffeine addiction.
I'm also practising with Droitwich band "Chevals". Even if I'm not able to join them properly, you should check out their stuff, because singer Luke O'Brien is just a generally awesome guy. You can find their page here - http://www.myspace.com/chevals
That's all for now. Thank you!
- Luke
