Author has written 33 stories for Fantasy, Spiritual, Humor, Essay, Love, Life, Young Adult, Romance, Fable, Family, Biography, Humor, General, and General.

Just a brief summary of me before I launch into raving about my stories.

My name is Artemis Rayne (yeah, really) I'm 20 years old, and just got my Associate of the Arts degree, with an emphasis on English Lit and Writing. I've been writing since I was 11 years old, and the story Secrets & Shadows is actually the very first story I began working on and the poor thing has been completed six different times. Besides writing, I spend a lot of time reading and I have a great passion for boating, photography, ballroom dance, musical theatre, and improvisational comedy. And I fail miserably at those last five things, in case anyone's curious. Well actually I'm not sure if I fail at boating because no one trusts me enough to let me drive...

In my writing I have a tendency to stick to my fantasy novels, but I am know to randomly jot down an angst-y one-shot or various styles of (horrible) poetry whenever the fancy takes me. I have also started a few romance novels that may or may not ever get finished, depending on how many chick-flicks I watch each day.

9/13/09 - I just went through and deleted several of the novels on here that will most likely never be updated again. They were cluttering up my page and I feel bad posting only a snippet and never continuing them. I'm sorry if there was something you really enjoyed that I deleted, but I'm not going to repost any of them until I have written a great deal more on them and several may be scrapped entirely.

11/11/09 - The series "The King's Traitor" has just been deleted. I've heard there's been an outbreak of story thief-er-ing and as much as I would love to leave it here for you people to read, I can't risk having it plagarized since I hope to be able to actually publish it someday. If you're still interested in following it or would like to start reading it, PM me and I can send you the link to the more secure place it's been posted at. Sorry!

Now about my work...I'm only going to mention my full novels that have some hope of ever being finished. Also, the short stories and poetry speak for themselves so I do not feel the need to elaborate.

The King's Traitor Series

The small kingdom of Camria has fallen in on itself, torn apart at the seams by ancient wars that put the human race in dominance of all others. When the young Princess Talyanne learns that her father is preparing to rage a war to eliminate all of the magical races of Camria, she is faced with the decision of sacrificing her family to follow what she knows is right. Setting out on an epic journey with the goal of creating an alliance of each of the hidden magical races, Talyanne becomes a traitor to the only family she has ever known. Her travels take her across the entirety of her kingdom and into the presence of exotic races she has only ever read about, and along the way she learns more about honor, justice, and herself than she had ever imagined possible. Will she survive beneath the pressure of leading a multi-racial army against her own father, or will the races she seeks to protect bring about her own demise?

Due to the upswing in plagarism and story stealery going on, I have decided, for my own peace of mind, to remove this story from this site. If any of you are interested in reading it, send me a PM and I can give you the link to a more secure website where I will be posting it. Thanks to everyone on here who supported me and I'm sorry that I can't keep it here with all of you.

Secrets & Shadows

Sixteen-year-old twins, Emma and Mischa DeGraw, discover that they possess a great power, a power that the members of a dark and murderous race of evil magi, the Karii, are out to steal. As they gradually discover more about the vague story of their past, they begin to learn that the truth behind their parents' deaths and the reasons that caused it are far more dangerous than they had been told. Each day finds them gaining more power, but also finds their enemy, a shadowy Karii lord, strengthening as he plans his ultimate rise to power: a plan that circles entirely around the twins' deaths. Emma and Mischa's true destiny is revealed and the pair must race to save the lives of their friends as well as rid themselves, once and for all, of the looming shadow that threatens to crush their very existence. Rated T for mild language and for future safety because we all know when it comes to a final showdown there's going to be some rather wicked parts. Will never see a publisher (the plot is a tad too cliche to be acceptable) but because of my deep connection with the book (it was my first after all) I intend to see it at least gets finished someday.

Fallen From Grace

The archangel Raphael was always God's healer and never knew anything beyond his holy work. Then while doing his work on Earth, Raphael meets and falls in love with a mortal woman. Filled with rage that his angel gave his heart to someone beside himself, God sentences the angel to a terrible fate: a life of immortality on earth where those humans that he once lived to save he must now kill to sustain his life. Driven from his place of grace, Raphael becomes a vampire. Then after hundreds of years of his miserable existence, he is offered a chance at returning to his former glory by protecting a young woman who is meant to hold the power in making a decision that can alter the fates of even God himself. Now Raphael's only concern, beyond dealing with a bitter and cynical teenage girl, is in stopping his past from repeating itself once more. Rated T for language and some action violence. Also, this story will come across as slightly blasphemous, if you can't tell already. If you are too religious to see things from a creative perspective then please do not bother even reading this because I don't want to listen to your complaints about the religious ideas portrayed here. (I dearly love this story, but I am afraid I've made little progress and do not know when I will be working on it again.)

Scheherazade's Mirror series

When the historical mirror of Scheherazade is bought for display in his father's museum, Gideon Wight fears it instantly. Sensing the aura of magic and power floating around it, Gideon vows to stay far away from it. When Gideon's extremely jealous best friend, Jason, learns of Gideon's fear he places a bet that Gideon would not dare touch the mirror at night, when it is supposed to be most powerful. Accepting the bet, the two sneak into the museum at night but when things go differently than expected, the two accidentally fall through the mirror into another world. Now to return home they must settle their differences as they search for each world's gem to mend the mirror's magic. Rated K+

Book one posted as "The Other Side of the Mirror." Undergoing revisions that will make it much more enjoyable.

All of the aforementioned novels are on indefinite hiatus with the exception of "The King's Traitor Series," which has just been removed from this site for safety reasons since I intend to see it published someday and I don't want to risk it being copied.

Also, I have an account on FanFiction under the same pen name, for those of you who enjoy reading fan fics. I have written stories for Beauty & the Beast, The Brothers Grimm, Harry Potter, Moulin Rouge, The Drew Carey Show, and Scrubs. My latest venture has been a couple of Neville-centric Harry Potter fics. Go Neville, the True Gryffindor! I also plan to write something for my new favorite show, Glee, as soon as I can come up with a good idea. Hopefully the end of the World Series and return of Glee will motivate my muse.

Congratulations if you managed to survive through that long winded sheet of gibberish. And although this quote is not meant about writing, I find it so very fitting for anyone who delves into the fantastical worlds inside our minds as often and as fully as I do... Also yes, I am aware it is said by a ficitonal character...

"Of course this is happening inside your head... but why on earth should that mean it is not real?" - Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
