Impuls

Everyone has an impulse now and again, and this is mine.

A little about me: I have a short attention span. This means I hop between stories and activities allot. I take month breaks from writing sometimes, so there will be long stretches of times when nothing will be updated. Especially during exam weeks. The only activity I've ever been able to stay with for a long period of time is frisbee. (Don't laugh! Ultimate Frisbee, if you play it right, requires just as much skill and strategy as any other sport.) This means that I tend to disappear outside and stay there for as long as possible once the weather turns nice. Don't worry, where I live the term "nice weather" is comparative anyway and usually falls somewhere between the seasons of "almost winter" and "rainy". Frisbee also means that I have a propensity for wrist injuries though. Such as right now. So there's days/weeks when I'm dying to write but the only way I can is if I'm so hopped up on pain killers that nothing intelligible is likely to come out anyway. Moral of the story, there's going to be long periods of time when I don't update.

About my writing: Every one wants to write the epic adventure about the elf or half elf that saves the world. I know, I've done it to. I have one in progress that might even go that direction eventually. But worlds don't just revolve around the epic adventures. They're about the small and personal triumphs as well. Lately I've been experimenting more with the latter. I've also been playing around with different styles. I'm trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work so comments in that area would be massively appreciated.

The Ties That Bind was something I started writing a few years ago. I wrote the first three chapters and then shelved the story until now. Because of that there's going to be a bit of a style change between the third and fourth chapters. If it's really obvious let me know and I'll go back and fix it. Also I do proof read, but especially when something has been sitting for so long, I tend to miss obvious or stupid typos. Don't just let them sit there, let me know!

Shadow Prince is not what you expect. I guarantee it. Yes, the summery is a little ambiguous. That's on purpose. It's also something of an experiment in style. I think I did a decent job, but I let me know what you think.

A Matter of Words is also an experiment in style and plot. There's nothing epic about it, except in terms of character's lives. The best adventures are the ones that become personal triumphs anyway. (And anyways, it's a lot easier to stay focused on a short two or three chapter story then on a huge one. This is my attempt to actually finish writing something I start for once).
