This account is going to be mainly used as an overall archive and testing grounds for new things. (my other accounts have only certain things posted, so this will have practically everything)
I love to write poetry and recently I have been getting into short stories and other longer things. These written works will have much more mistakes and other errors than my poetry, so any help and revision ideas are welcome.

Help Wanted! A Beta Reader!
Hey, as NaNoWriMo is approaching I’ve been editing my story from last year in order to complete it next month (woot!) And I’ve been thinking a lot during my editing process, and (I have to say) I’m a pretty poor editor. I tend to focus on story plot-line and structure and I completely miss really obnoxious typos. XP
Soooooo, when I begin to post this NaNoWriMo story (working title, Goddess) in December, I’ve decided to try to take on a beta reader to help me out! I’ve never had one before, so this is a new experience for me. And the beta reader option that fp has is kind of scary to me (so many names…) So I’m going to post this here and see if I get any hits!
Some things I’ll look for if you want to beta for me:
-If you have read any of my other work (my multi-chapter work, I mean) I just want someone who it at least somewhat familiar with the way I write.
-If you have had beta experience before. Really just because I haven’t had one before, I don’t know how it works. If you haven’t, then at least have an idea for how you want it work.
-If you can work in a timely manner. Please, give me back the edits within a week or so. And if you can’t, I would like an email instead giving me a reason (it doesn’t have to be too personal, I just want to make sure you’re not dead)
-If you have good grammar/spelling skills! Grammar is something that I ignore most of the time, but if you find a sentence just sounds awkward because of my funky grammar, I would like to know! And the most spelling mistakes I make are just mistyping words with other words (like I always do ‘she’ instead of ‘he’ and I NEVER catch it)
-Though the basis of your beta-ing will be mostly grammar/spelling. I’m always up for someone who wants to give me some deeper comments about characters/structure/plotline. But if you don’t want to (or just don’t want to all the time) I ask for at least grammar/spelling so the story at least looks nice =)
-If you have an interest in editing a long piece of fiction (it’s taking me two NaNoWriMo’s to finish this, so it’s going to be long!) If you have an interest in fantasy (I guess there’s a little sci-fi, but mostly fantasy) And if you have an interest in romance. Specifically femslash/ff/shojo-ai. I just want to make that clear. Personally, I view het/mm/ff all in the same bucket, but I know some people don’t feel that way.
-And of course, I would like you to be respectful to my work. I’m not afraid of a harsh critique (As often I give them out…) but I just want to make sure that you give me reasons for critiques that you have. (I doubt anyone will flame me as a beta, but just to be clear)
If you meet these points, great! If you meet most of them, that’s okay too! I don’t know how many people will actually want to do this for me, so I will be lax if I need to.

If you meet all the points above, and if not, which ones you don’t meet and maybe why (like if you can’t meet the time requirement because of work/school) If you are a part of the Beta Readers, it would be great if you gave me your profile. If you are a part of fictionpress, I would like your username (if you are not, but you have an account on livejournal/deviantart/elfwood/or some others that I can’t think of, I would be interested in seeing that too) If you don’t have anything besides for an email address, it won’t count against you, I promise! Just personal things, give me your first name too, because it’s awkward for me to refer to people by usernames, and I would like to know how old you are and if you’ve had much writing or editing experience before.
