Author has written 33 stories for War, General, Nature, Fantasy, Haiku, Life, and Love. Hi! I'm 19 years old and I love to write poetry. I have a lot of old stuff that I'm only just putting up now because I've recently become re-inspired so you'll find a fair bit of diversity between my new and old poems. I also love to read so I'll most likely favourite a lot of stuff. In poetry I like Nature, Religion and Fantasy the most. In stories though I prefer Fantasy or Family or Mythology. I also don't mind essays on religion, concepts or politics. In saying that don't expect me to write any stories because I'm terrible at it though I might put up some essays. Basics Name: You don't need to know so just call me Starfire Age: 19 Country: Australia Favourite Colours: Green and Purple and Black Fav Quotes: Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality. If the last minute didn't exist, millions of things would never be done. - unknown All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible. -- T.E. Lawrence You only have power over people as long as you don't take everything away from them. But, when you've robbed a man of everything, he's no longer in your power - he's free again. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn I intend to live forever -- so far, so good. The early bird may get the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese. The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering. "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. -Aristotle He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever. -Chinese Proverb A hundred elephants can wreck the outer walls of a fortress. One diseased rat can kill all those inside. Duct Tape is like the Force. It has a Light Side. A Dark Side. And it holds things together. Edit: I've been swamped with assessment lately and I have exams coming up so I won't be replying to reviews for a while. But once uni is finished i will try to catch up on replying so don't be suprised to get a reply up to 4 months after the fact :) Also any new poems will likely get posted up at the same time so I apologise for any flooded inboxes. Thanx for reading. Starfire17 Edit 2: Sorry for not updating in so long, uni has been absolutely hectic and I haven't had any time. I'll try and get things up as I write them but I'll probably still end up posting stuff up months after they're written. Thanks for those that have reviewed me and I'll try to reply within the next 2 months but I've exams coming up again :( this time I will get around to the reviews. thanks again to everybody who has reviewed. | |||||||
