Author has written 8 stories for Fantasy, and Romance.

Hi, all! Thanks so much for your interest in my writing. Since 200 characters is scarcely enough space to give adequate description of most works posted on FictionPress, I've included lengthier details on the stories I've posted. As for me, I love to write (I know, duh!). It's more than a hobby for me. Someday, I'd love to get some of my stuff published. In the meantime, I spend my every waking moment writing - either on my computer, on a scrap of paper or in my head. Plots and characters run riot through my brain and I'm sure most people think me a complete shatter-shell. Oh well. As I like to say: Yes, I listen to the voices in my head. Frequently. No, I have no life. But I don't need one. I'm self-sufficient in self-entertainment. I have several dozen characters to keep me company, thank you. Although, some days, I really wish they'd shut up.

Periodic Author Updates:

(9/18/09) And the big news from my corner of the world... my husband and I welcomed our daughter into the world at 7:28 PM on 9/1/09. Which means I am in that wonderful limbo between being in complete and total bliss and being completely and totally exhausted. She's doing great and is perfectly healthy... and one of the calmest babies I've ever even heard of. So, what does this mean for my stories? Well, some of them are on hold for a while until life settles into a new groove. Actually, most of them are on hold. However, I managed to get some writing in today. And the revisions on Chapter 7 of "Summer Angel" are done and posted. Or as done as they're going to get until I get the whole of the book revised and go back for clean-up. I have to say, I really like the changes from what used to be. It's an important chapter.

(8/12/09) Well, Chapter 7 of "Summer Angel" is, I have to say, coming along quite well. Got four pages written today. I only have a few more paragraphs to write to bridge the new stuff with the old and then it's all revising the old stuff. Exciting! But good progress always is.

(7/26/09) Ha ha! Please excuse me as I exclaim in exultation, but Chapter 6 of "Summer Angel" is FINALLY DONE!! It's not the greatest or my favorite, but for now, it will work. It does it's job well enough until I can go back and flush it out and fix it once the main revisions for the whole book are finished. For now, I'll have to be content with that because it's time to move on to Chapter 7. Yay!

A Little More Info on the Stories:

The Pirates' Prince - Fantasy
To Tame a Pirate and Always a Pirate are two parts to one story. Got the idea when I was reading a book about pirates and stumbled across a line about how some pirates (of the Caribbean) had considered creating a pirate nation. At any rate, I took the characters from a short, sci-fi story in which they didn't really fit, and created a brand new world for them. So far, Shonagan has been a blast to write about, because he's not the perfect Prince I usually get stuck with. He's got a temper and takes it out in his pirating.
Synopsis: "Shonagan would be happy to be only Shon Se'ganui, worrying about nothing more than upholding his title as the most daring pirate of the century. But he was born Shonagan té Nui Se'tanara, the only son and heir of the Emperor of Lisile and being Shon Se'ganui at all defies his father's wishes. When the Sehmadonians seek to end piracy in the Pirate Islands, politicians like his father refuse to stand in their way. Shonagan soon finds out that the ways of freedom-loving pirates like himself cannot be saved by a law-chained Crown Prince. It will take a Pirate Prince."

Moon Son Trilogy - Fantasy
Synopsis (Star Road) Coming soon.
Synopsis (Moon Son) Coming later.
Synopsis (Star Rise) Coming MUCH later.

Kdara's Gate - Fantasy
"Kdara's Gate" is an experiment based on a really cool dream I had last year. It's been a lot of fun, too. It's a crossover between Fantasy and Sci-fi with the "modern" parts in a first person narrative (from the POV of Surya Kanjiru) and the "historical" parts in third person (from the POV of Lord Marshal Kayiko Jireshan). It's, as I said, a lot of fun so far. For me at least. Depending on how the story shapes up, it may be one book or two (with the second being titled "Kdara's Key"). As I'm working on this, Kayiko is turning out to be a far more complex character than I'd originally intended. Hmmmmmm...
Synopsis: "Three hundred years ago, the central valley of Kdara - heart of magic and learning on Mrui - was Locked away to save its magic and dragons from an Outworld invasion force bent upon destroying what it could not understand. Now, a controversial play will give five young women the key to unlocking the secrets."

Angel Series/Northstar, MT - Romance
The Angel Series is set of at least three novels (possibly as many as seven with two additional "Northstar" spin-offs - we'll see what happens as I finish them). A friend and I started working on "Mountain Angel" and "Summer Angel" ten years ago, way back when, and I have since taken the reins. I dearly love these characters and they've been with me for so long that it's hard to, as they say, "let them go" and share them with others. But, I've done it, at last.
Synopsis (Mountain Angel): "Aelissm Davis is a sassy, independent woman who isn't used to needing anyone's help. A talented crafter in the macho world of industrial arts, Aeli knows how to handle herself. But even she knows that when it comes to Adam Winters - a man she once considered a friend and whose obsession with her has driven him to stalk her - she can't do it alone. When running away to her parents' rustic cabin in a remote valley in Montana doesn't throw him off, she calls her police captain uncle for advice. Bill's solution is to send his most trusted detective to protect her. But Aeli isn't his only concern. Patrick O'Neil has known his own brand of terror and has been working too hard for three years to forget a disastrous relationship and Bill knows that Northstar, Montana, where Aelissm is hiding, may be the best place for Pat to go to heal."
Synopsis (Summer Angel): Five years ago, Ben Conner was forced to kill in the line of duty and a twelve-year-old boy was left with no one. With the nightmares becoming more frequent, Ben leaves Washington and heads home to Northstar, Montana hoping that his old friend can help him through this. But June Montana's adopted son is the same boy he orphaned. June has always prided herself on being able to overcome her own obstacles and helping those she loves overcome theirs. In the five years he's been with her, Luke has flourished. She hopes that seeing how well he's doing will help Ben heal from the guilt that's been eating away at him. When it looks like things might finally be going well, someone sets out to destroy their newfound peace. June and Ben must fight to protect Luke from a mad-man's revenge and to keep their happiness from falling apart. But Ben's desire to help might set June to fighting him instead. Sequel to Mountain Angel.
Synopsis (Wild Angel): Luke Conner is trapped in a prison of silence and haunted by the ghosts of his turbulent past. Faced with the charge of a boy with a history too similar to his own, he is forced to re-examine the abuse he suffered as a child. He still hasn’t healed from the tragic murders a decade past and doubts his ability to deal with it all at once. It will take a miracle, and he’s pretty sure he’s already used more than his fair share. Ryan Connelly has her own demons that have kept her from allowing anyone too close, but when she answers Luke’s silent plea for help at a faculty meeting, she finds herself drawn to the mysterious man and his plight. Together, they learn how to live and love again, but when the ghosts from both their pasts come knocking, the old habits of solitude threaten to destroy everything they’ve fought to rebuild. If Luke and Ryan can’t face their demons together, the scars of the past will destroy what might be their only chance to truly heal.Sequel to Summer Angel.
Synopsis (The Healing Place): "Josh and Kate James had it all. Friends since childhood, man and wife in college, and an adorable son, Jeremy. But when Jeremy was killed by a car at the tender age of five, their world fell apart. Kate couldn't stand to look at her husband, the man who her little boy so looked like, so six months after Jeremy's death, Josh agreed to a divorce for Kate's peace of mind. Five years have passed and Josh is ready to move on. But on what would have been Jeremy's tenth birthday, a yelling match at a restaurant leads their mutual friends to step in and do something to heal the wounds. It's time for Kate to realize she still loves Josh and time for Josh to realize that no other woman can take Kate's place in his heart. What better place to send them than the Northstar Valley? Like so many others who have come to Northstar, Kate and Josh soon find that there is still something between them worth fighting for."

Now that that's all out of the way, here's the rest. I happily accept all reviews, possitive, negative and especially CONSTRUCTIVE. I will also happily read & review in return if you'd like. I do try to be as helpful as I can be because I know how nice it is to get good feedback. I also know how hard it can be to step back and take a look at your own work - let's face it, other people catch things the writer doesn't. I hope you enjoy reading my stories at least half as much as I enjoy writing them.

~Shy

PS - Thanks to everyone else who's reviewed "Mountain Angel" already! Seriously, I can't thank you wonderful people enough. I've gotten a couple of very helpful critiques, so... THANK YOU!!
