I'm not American, I'm Brazilian, for anyone that doesn't know where it is (kinda hard nowadays), it's in South America, and unlike most of South American countries, Brazilians DO NOT speak Spanish, we speak Portuguese, it's a different language. My dream is to go to Japan one day cause I love Japanese things, I also study Japanese, I know enough to form mid level sentences and read not-so-hard texts. I know about 300 kanji, their reading and meanings, other 800 I know only their meaning or reading, and the other 900 (you need to know about 2000 to read a newspaper, did you know that?) I can only read with the help of furigana.
