As weird as it is to say this, I have to. Destiny's Lioness (Destinee de la Lionne, DL, whatever you want to call it) is...well, done.

Of course I have a lot of editing to do on the earlier chapters, as per suggestion of a very helpful and wonderful reviewer, but the main rewriting is done. Hopefully I'll never do it again - rewriting (that is retyping) every page of a 380-something page story is painful.

The cover I have for Destinee is here in case anyone wants to look, and the back cover is this
Arguably they aren't the best done, I'm not a very good artist, but...hopefully they at least fit the mood.

I've recently figured out that my writing turns out better if I read out-loud as I type (albeit much slower - an average of 50-some minutes per chapter) and as such I've begun recording myself as I read/type, and then playing it back. So just for any curious souls, I'm going to stick the saved files up here: they're not completely done of the chapters, those are too big for any decent file-host to take, but hopefully this'll be entertainig, at least.

Chapter I-Forgot-What

Chapter: What Price Will You Pay

I knew it was a mistake, I swear I knew it was a mistake the moment I even thought of it. And yet I still do it anyway! Maybe this should be telling me something...

After finally getting this account validated, and finally being able to post DdlL up...I got the oh-so-wise idea at midnight (beware brain-flashes that come after eleven; they might not be brain flashes so much as brain spazzes) to go back and redo some of the first chapter. Perfectly innocent. Very simple.

...only I didn't just /edit/ the first chapter, I /rewrote/ the whole thing. And, being the smart cookie that I am, I went on to rewrite the next chapter too. Of course I decided, hey what the heck - it's 2AM in the morning - why not rewrite the entire book? No sweat!

So here I am now; two and some chapters into the rewriting process, and wishing that I'd never thought of it. Oh well - dug myself in, have to dig myself out.

--seeing how it isn't my only - or first - (although it is the only "completed") story, I may post the story that came before DdlL. I started writing Soulbound in..my god, sixth grade or something like that, and it's gone through so many revisions that I'm back on chapter two again, rewriting it. Again. And I've never made it to the end, either, before one of my rewriting spazms kicked in and left me back at the beginning again. Nevertheless, its heroine is arguably one of - if not the - my favorite characters, and I'd rather feed my head through a meat-grinder than leave her story incomplete.

But I can go a long time without finishing it. As I've proven.
