PROFILE UPDATE 6/21/07:
I haven't finished those drawings yet, but here are a basic idea of what these Inscription characters look like in my head.
MEG: (if there were a movie, I would want these actresses to play her, although I know I wouldn't have much say anyway...)Danielle Harris, best known for her work in the Halloween series, even though she's a bit older I think she could pull off a teenager. http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/40/52/88f.jpg ... OR Scout Taylor Compton, best known for her upcoming role in the Halloween remake. http://eur.i1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/xp/premiere_photo/20050906/08/3976339719.jpg... OR Janaya Stephens, also an older but wonderful actress http://www.cftexcellence.net/janaya_stephens_cmp.jpg
JONATHAN: Kris Lemche, mostly known for Final Destination 3, although trust me, there is much more to this fine Canadian actor than that movie. http://www.northernstars.ca/media1/lemche_kris.jpg OR Milo Ventimiglia, best known from Heroes and Gilmore Girls. http://www.heroestheseries.com/stills/qdig-files/converted-images/milo-ventimiglia-cast-roundup/med_milo-ventimiglia-1.jpg
SABRINA: Now I'm not entirely sure if I'd want these next two actors in the actual movie for their talents, but the physical appearances of both characters were based mostly on these actors. Brittany Oaks, based upon her physical appearance and lovely work in Red Eye. In this picture, she is on the right. http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Events/2180/BrittanyOa_Cohen_1791490_400.jpg
JIM: And for Jim, Max Van Ville, who's captured one of the major roles in Rob Zombie's upcoming version of Halloween (and yes, I am obsessed with that movie). http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/84/10/98f.jpg
ZEKE: Lastly, the talented Ian McKellen as Zeke Jenkins! Yay, hoorah, here's the picture: http://re3.mm-a3.yimg.com/image/2689750914 (a picture in which he looks quite a lot like Alan Rickman, by the way...)
Myself: My name is Rebekah and I'm a junior student with a passion for fiction and music. I reside in a microscopic New York town with my family and imaginary friend Porifirio.
Hobbies: Since I have no life, most of my free time is comprised of chilling with Porifirio ( :) ), playing guitar/flute/piano, writing, reading, or cooking. I love gastronomy! I also invest worthless time in feeble attempts to learn foreign languages and doing research on topics that will never ever matter...I've always had the backwards hope that someday all of this will become relevant.
I also enjoy Model UNs and journalism.
Music: Phew, this could take a while: My favorite bands include Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis, Cute Is What We Aim For, Paramore, Cut Copy, Belle and Sebastian, Regina Spektor, The Beatles, Queen, The Kaiser Chiefs, We Are Scientists, The Cribs, Dirty Pretty Things, The Libertines, Kings of Leon, The Yummy Fur, The Karelia, The Amphetameanies, The Police, The Kinks, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Bad Religion, Clint Mansell, The Hives, The Vines, Smashing Pumpkins, The Fiery Furnaces, The Decemberists...does any of this matter? I think not! I also have a band with my friend that we have proudly christened Bothering Mason.
Movies: Anything and everything with the talented Mr. Cillian Murphy! So that means Red Eye, Batman Begins, Breakfast on Pluto, Intermission...I also like Rachel McAdams, my favorites of hers also being Red Eye, Wedding Crashers, The Family Stone, and The Notebook. Aside from that, I like Across the Universe, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Crybaby, Edward Scissorhands, The Secret Window, Halloween, The Princess Bride, and um...yeah...a lot of Disney movies as well. I'm going to stop now...
Television: I actually am not a huge TV fan, but among my favorites are the classics: Full House, Boy Meets World, etc, and then my guilty pleasures: Gilmore Girls, Friday Night Lights, The Soup, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Books: Naturally, the classics are at the top of the list: The Princess Bride, The Catcher In The Rye, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Grapes of Wrath, The Jungle, A Patchwork Planet, Anne Frank: Diary Of A Young Girl, and anything Russian, especially stuff by Nabokov...I also enjoy thrillers and the Christian fiction series Left Behind. Currently, I've set myself a goal to read every single Nicholas Sparks book in existence. So far, my favorite books of his include The Notebook, The Guardian, True Believer, At First Sight, A Walk to Remember, and The Wedding.
Idols: I'll start with the obvious: my friends and family. Now, I'll move to the rational.Helen Keller and Anne Frank, two undeniable symbols of feminine strength, and Mahatmas Gandhi, whom I believe every living person should aspire to be. Then I have Alex Kapranos and Freddy Mercury, my musical inspirations, and Cillian Murphy, my all around obsessee. I would marry the man if possible. Lastly I have Batman. Why? Hello. 'Cause he's Batman.
My Writing: Currently, I like to get in over my head with Red Eye fic. I'm also working on a book (The Inscription) and Horace B North, both of which will soon be posted here. I'm also working on an extended short story entitled 'Red Line' and an additional memoir named 'Dutch'.
In Progress: The Inscription, Horace B North, Dutch, Red Line
