"'The train is a good place to meet people,
the subway a good place to say good-bye.
Today I'm in the subway,
whose compartment is cold—
brightly contrasting my sister
with I.'
The city is a nexus of comings and goings, a subway station by its own right. And here, children are raised to speak what's most often said, teens taught to loath what their families represent, here, young men and women learn that people come and go. Some surrender, some resist, some fail, some succeed, but most people choose simply to travel with the flow.
It is here, where the bridges are built and razed, that true and false emotions show, where death is sometimes but a phase, yet love in memories never go. Here are the stories of people raised for the future, but who could only live in the moment because they know: that moment may be the last seconds of their truths.
These are also the stories of the past, forgotten after the abandonment of those same truth, about those who revisit them, though we know that most never do."
