M. Forthe was born in the dry desert plains, but was raised all over the western United States. She loves old things, the ocean, and her music. Writing is a fundamental part of her life, as is antique collecting, as well as composing. Fascinated with history and fantasy alike, M. Forthe spends most of her time reading avidly. She currently resides in the desert with her muses: Gracie the cat, and Hamlet the guinea pig.

I am currently working on a sequel to The Bonny Ship. That's right! Be on the lookout for The Bonny Soldier, an adventure story in which your favorite pirate, James Shelley, returns. Fun and exciting things! In this new novel, war between the Northlands and the Mother Continent breaks out again. The Northern Coast has fallen, and soldiers are scarce. James is unwillingly drafted into the army, and foolhardy Eva is not too far behind. Disguised as a boy, she finds not only James, but a lot of trouble on the battlefield as well, especially when it comes to the vicious Lieutenant Jonathan Worthing...

“A safe but sometimes chilly way of recalling the past is to force open a crammed drawer. If you are searching for anything in particular you don't find it, but something falls out at the back that is often more interesting.” –James Matthew Barrie

“We lay aside letters never to read them again, and at last we destroy them out of discretion, and so disappears the most beautiful, the most immediate breath of life, irrecoverable for ourselves and for others.” –Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
