HERMiA ALCOTT

x - - -

Name: Hermia Alcott, the hint is in the pen name. This is just my pen name, actually, although I do want to legally change my real name some time in the future. I really don't like it. I like Hermia Alcott, though, as I'm sure you can tell. It's an anagram of my real full name, with the second surname (of the pseudonym) removed and the extra 'h' on the end of Hermia booted off, because I think Hermia looks nicer than Hermiah.

Age: Immortal. I always say that and it never gets old. Well, it can't, 'cause it's immortal, ha ha ha. But okay, I'm a teenager. - storms off to go and be moody -

Appearance: I am short. I have shoulder-length brown hair that sometimes looks ginger, and eyes that change colour spontaneously. Yay.

Reading: Anything and everything. My favourite genre is probably fantasy, but I like the 'general' category on fictionpress too, because loads of random stuff gets put in there, so you never know what you're going to find. It's like a lucky dip! I read a lot of young adult too, and while I don't often scour the romance section, I do like some stories with an underlying of love somewhere, although that's not critical in my enjoyment of the overall story. I also like some manga, if it's tasteful and not just full of junk spam-a-lot fics with Japanese names, because they annoy me. Not that I can do much better, I admit. Outside of fictionpress, I still read a lot of young adult fantasy. Some of my favourite authors include Robin McKinley, Shannon Hale, Jenny Valentine, Suzanne Collins and Jenny Downham (I've met her, she's really nice x3).

Writing: I'm currently working on my first proper novel that I have no plans to post on fictionpress because I'm paranoid about plagiarism. Not that I think it's worth plagiarising, but.. eh. It's about pirates, magic, mermaids, secret languages, traumatic events, bad weather and homeless people. Oh, fun stuff.

Aside from writing and reading, which are both things that I do quite a lot, I like drawing (although I really am rather crap at it), listening to music (which I am brilliant at because it really doesn't take much talent to press a 'play' button) and sitting and thinking about stories I would like to write, where I would like the things I am currently writing to go, and what I want the different characters to do. It is probably because I spend too much time thinking and not enough time doing that I don't have many works up yet. But they're coming, they're coming... honestly... some time... one day... maybe...
