"I live in a town where you can't smell a thing,
you watch your feet for cracks in the pavement"
~ Subterranean Homesick Alien Radiohead

Hi.
The names Alex, although I also go by the name of Lexi. Which I prefer, even if I do sound slightly too effeminite with it.

I don't write stories per se, I wrote poetry with a narrative thread to it. Most of my Inspiration is drawn from the sprawling concrete world we humans like to call 'Cities'. I'm lucky enough to live in a Garden city, which means there is lots of green AND concrete. And random parks and Fields. Its a bit odd, really. But I live dead in the middle of the London-Cambridge train line, so I know how depressing even visiting 'cities' is.

My other source of inspiration is music. My two philsophical guides in life are Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and Thom Yorke of Radiohead. Trent Reznor is more a guide to the way my world operates - Inside my head. Thom, on the other hand, is my guide to viewing the world; People are aware, they just aren't bothered. Of course, both are musical geniuses as well (In my opinion). This all said and done, my favourite band is Iron Maiden, simply because they frickin' rock.
I'm Pretty Eclectic, I listen to anything from Quiet, Alternative Rock (The Cure) to Black and Death Metal (Darkthrone) to balls-to-the-wall Thrash (just about anything from Sweden :D )to ultrafast Techno crap (Fluke) and dodgy ambient ELECTRONIC (Boards of Canada) . And about everything in between. Ska is growing on me (esp. Ska punk. Energy, woot), but I still don't think much of Reggae. Or any of this Modern 'Pop-punk' or 'Hip-hop'.
Such Utter Bollocks has been churned out recently from these so-called 'Genres', it makes me want to sob.

I'm slightly paranoid. I see things inside my head clearer than this 'Real world' thing you talk of. Life seems slightly trippy and dreamlike, yet I don't take drugs in any, non-prescription form. I should get my head examined sometime, but hell, it makes my writing more interesting this way. I'm also pretty Introverted. Sounds painful, eh.
I'm very random, and, in person, I can seem VERY hyper. Oh well. Life more fun when things are random.

I love novels based in our (inevitable) Dystopian Future. Brave New World is better than 1984, no questions asked. And H.G. Wells is a Genius.
The best book ever written is The Time Ships (The official sequel to The Time Machine by HG). Followed by The Hungry Catapillar.

Thats about all for now, I'll get back to this some other time.

Keep it random.
-Lexi :)
