I'm Jaye-Marie. I'm sixteen. I love movies, summer, foreign languages, art, cheddar cheese, purple, shopping, dancing, books, music, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the internet, crowds, history, pineapple, photography, politics, soccer, Scrabble, funny dubbed-over foreign movies, animals, big cities, and (of course) writing. I don't love cartoons, vegetables, math, shoes, football, yellow, swallowing pills, meat, myspace, winter, or public restrooms. I wish I could say I spent my time doing lots of adventurous or at least productive things, but I don't. I'm working on it.
I love to write, true, but I also have a major writing problem: I lack perserverance. My teacher in third grade told me that (and then had me look up the word). It was true then, and it's true now. I'm working on it.
I guess I'm a work in progress. But who isn't? Especially at sixteen!
Please, even if you don't like what I write, tell me what you think. I'll return the favor.
This is the less important stuff:
My favorite authors are Lisa Klein, Tamora Pierce, JK Rowling, Deb Caletti, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, PB Kerr, Meg Cabot, Stephenie Meyer, Frank Beddor, Angie Sage, John Marsden, Scott Westerfeld, William Nicholson, Justine Larbalestier, Isabel Allende, Diane Duane, Julie Anne Peters, Brent Hartinger, Caridad Ferrer, Gail Carson Levine, Maureen Johnson, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Randa Abdel-Fattah, Melina Marchetta, Mary Hoffman, Francisco X Stork, Garrett Freymann-Weyr, and John Green.
If you can't tell from that list, most of what I read is young adult or middle-grade fiction. My fifth grade brother reads some of the same books I do. I don't mind; I read for fun, not to show other people I'm smart. I know I'm no idiot.
My taste in music is not particularly sophisticated. I don't like country, but I'll listen to a lot of what's on the radio. I listen to Top 40 music, and I'm not ashamed--I'm certainly no music snob.
I love movies, and some of my favorites are as follows: the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Pirates of the Carribean movies, Pocahontas, Erin Brokovitch, Step Up, Save The Last Dance, Take the Lead, Reign of Fire, Saved!, Anastasia, Walkout, Quinceanera, and Mulan. As you may be able to tell, some things that make a movie way better for me are sword-fighting and dancing.
I had another FictionPress account. I may repost some stuff as is, or I may rewrite some of it. I'm not sure yet.
