My most important work here on Fictionpress is my young adult novel called Sealed With a Kiss. It's specifically being written for young gays and lesbians as they're dealing with coming out or being in the closet. I remember wishing I had some young adult novels at my fingertips when I was a teenager; it's really nice to see more of them being published these days. What's most important to me in writing this novel is letting somebody know: "It's okay. You're not alone." Sure, adult gay/lesbian literature is all good and well, but there's something powerful in these types of stories hitting teen shelves. These kinds of stories give hope...and I hope that mine will end up doing that as well.
Aside from the novel, I'm also a big poetry person. I only have a few poems up here on Fictionpress, but that's not for a lack of many more. It's just that this place is more about SWAK than anything else.
Other than those fairly obvious passions of mine, I'm simply a 27-year-old woman who's had a fairly interesting life so far... full of love, passion, drama, friendship, pain, family, and so many other things that sometimes we take for granted. The pieces of the puzzle of my life are beginning to settle in...and I look forward to seeing what else is to come. :)
