Good Lord I need to update this.
It’s Honest, of course!
Okay, so here’s the skinny on Honestcat: I’m not much of a poet, but I’ll occasionally post one up here. Generally, I write short stories. Recently, I haven’t been posting my work up here. I hope to change that by putting up everything here. I also have plenty of projects planned, which will be expanded on later below.
The Basics:
Name: Honest
Gender: obsessive maniac
Age: A true lady never reveals her age, silly!
Currently: wondering if I’m going crazy, but too afraid to talk to anyone
Likes: rice pudding, giraffes, steampunk, mirrors, clocks and the ticking noise they make, pineapple pizza, Gaia Online, my dying pet cat, good books, corners, and fairytales.
Hobbies: writing, daydreaming, talking, dancing in front of the mirror, hitting trees with baseball bats, finding cool stuff for cheap, sitting in rooms with nothing to do, making lists, listening to music, and writing random gibberish on my lists of likes and hobbies.
Hates: arrogance, how selfish I am, getting sick, walking straight lines, the Man, puppets, meat, Spanish rice, smelly ex-boyfriends, cyberpunk, My Chemical Romance, drugs, people who like to play pretend, and making sense.
Current Music: Hotspur, Dionoysos, 30 Seconds to Mars, Panic at the Disco, Motion City Soundtrack, Just like Always, Emilie Autumn, Jimmy Eat World, Cobra Starship, Metro Station, The Beatles, Apotogyma Berzerk, Abney Park and Rise Against.
The Current/Future Projects
These are stories that I hope may be coming soon. In the order I hope they are coming in. It is so hard to tell though. They are like children in a mother’s womb: you can never pinpoint when it’s coming out, it’s going to hurt like hell at some point, you can never tell how quickly it will come once you start, you will have to do some heavy breathing eventually and if there is more than one in there, you can’t tell which will come out first.
Relic Fantasy, surreal; Novita: A fifteen piece novita about a young man named Lucien Belfiore, who wanted nothing more than a simple life. Of course, isn’t that what always causes the trouble? He starts to have strange dreams about a French aristocrat and his involvement in a set of treasonous experiments. These dreams continue until he is living two lives, and the lines between them begin to blur…
+ Suffer in Silence- Fantasy, Fairytale; Novel: A novel I have planned since the end of NaNo ’07. It is a part of the largest project I have in the works. Like everything else in the project, it is a retelling of classic fairytales. However, unlike the other pieces, it is a combination of different fairytale elements and characters. More information to come on the novel and the collaborative collection project soon.
+ Generics, Clichés, and Other Things you’re Sick of Reading About- Humor, Parody; Novita: I think I fail at making short and catchy titles. “Generics” is a collection of stories that parody classic and clichéd story themes that are far too familiar among amateur, and some professional, writers.
+ Pop Goes the Hamster! And other fun microwave games- Humor, Absurdist Fiction; Novel: This really isn’t what it sounds like, promise.
+ Gathering Wool- Surreal, Fantasy-ish; Novel: Why do people daydream? Is it a silly waste of time? Or perhaps it is needed, a necessity of life. This is a tale about the land of daydreams, of love, strangers, and needing hope in the dimming world. And let me tell you, the crap I thought up when I started sketching this puppy is bizarre. I could have easily been on acid.
+ Born to be a Rock Star- General; Novelette: A cute, jovial, non-absurd, cynical, or overly-dramatic story that keeps me hanging on. It is about Leila Parker, a young college student pursuing a career in music in North Carolina with her best friends Aya Yamoto and Allison Fields. It’s just cute. That’s all there really is to it.
+The Art of Inspiration- Fantasy, Magical Girl; Manga Another: cute piece that I will end up never writing, but rather just think about when bored. Alice Cooper is a middle school student growing up in a world where one out of every fifty people has the ability to bring their mind’s creations to life, using magic. Naturally, she is one of these people, and her mother wants to use her powers for forgery and counterfeiting. To keep her hidden after filing divorce, Alice’s father shipped her off to West Virginia to live in a good friend’s apartment complex. Alice decides to help pay her own rent by opening a shop with her creative powers. Chaos ensues.
