So yeah, there's this crazy dream I have of becoming a writer. A novelist preferably. Yeah, I know wierd. Does anybody around here share that dream, I wonder? Well, my problem is that I'm lazy and only finish things when I have to. So I've started this to motivate me to put my ideas down, and, more importantly, finish them. So you want to know about me? Well, here goes.
Name: Iliana. I will not give you my last name because my first is uncommon as it is and I don't want any creepy Internet stalkers. Nothing personal, you just can never be too careful.
Age: I'm 15 for a moment/Caught in between 10 and 20/And I'm just dreaming...
Location: Los Angeles, California. One of the bad parts, so even if I wanted to I wouldn't be writing about the fancy places and famous celebrities. I want to get the hell out of here, so my settings are usually places I've never been. Feel free to correct me if I get some sort of geography wrong.
TV:
Arrested Development: The best television show ever! No exceptions! 53 half-hours of perfection. Sadly the show was good and on FOX, so it got canceled.
Veronica Mars: Yes, it peaked in the first season, but the last two years were good in their own right. And you have to admit that the last two episodes were on par with the Holy Season One. Sadly nobody cared and it was canceled.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Oh, c'mon! Buffy! This show is responsible for the best sword fight ever (Buffy vs. Angel in season 2) AND the best all-out fight ever (Buffy vs. Faith in season 3).
The Office: If you've seen the first episode for with either the British or American version, then you get my pen-name.
Favorite Authors: Christopher Moore, Meg Cabot, Caprice Crane, David Sedaris, Neil Gaiman, Joss Whedon (comic books make him an author!)
Favorite Books:
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold -- Made me cry. If Dakota Fanning gets to pay Susie in the movie I will have a fit!
The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst -- Really sad, and it got me fascinated by masks.
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger -- Funny story about this one. When I first read it, I didn't really get it. Then I read it again a couple of years later, and I just didn't like it. Now, I really love it. I can relate more.
Rhymes With Witches by Lauren Myracle-- Like Mean Girls, only rhymes-with-witchier.
Stupid and Contagious by Caprice Crane -- One of the few straight-out love stories I can actually stand. It's because I can actually belive why they're in love: they're both fricken' wierdos. And I flove Brady.
Lullaby by Chuck Palahnuik -- My computer password is "password."
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood -- A novel within a novel within a novel. Just so sad and so amazing.
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving -- Loved it, but the ending pissed me off! It could have so been prevented. And I loved Owen.
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd -- A bit melodramatic at times, but it got me. It made me want to hug my mom.
The Bloody Jack Series by L.A. Meyer -- I'm not into pirates, but I love this. I really think L.A. Meyer is some sort of genius. It's just so well-crafted.
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket -- It came to no real conclusion, and there probably aren't any real answers, but it's just fun to think up theories isn't it? Like Lost for kids.
