Hi! My name is Ariel and I'm going to be 17 years old in August. I'm going to be a junior in high school in the fall.

My pen name is Arya Rose, but I haven't been using it as much as I used to.

I live in Ohio, and my family has a lake cottage up in Coldwater, Michigan. It is the most amazing place... Even though I'm not much of an outdoorsy person, I love it up there! The lake cottage is so damned inspiring, it cannot be healthy~ I love taking my laptop up there to write! Ohio, however, is one of the worst places in the US to live. Never come here - it's so BORING and LAME and very very intolerant of many stupid things.

I'm crazy fun to be around most days, and I'm easy to get along with. I value honesty and trust above all else.

"...The wind so cold
the sun is frozen
the world has lost its light
I carry your picture deep in me
back to you over 1000 seas
back to us
don't you lose your trust and your belief
Just trust me.
We have to go 1000 oceans wide
1000 dark years when time has died
1000 stars are passing by
We have to go 1000 oceans wide
1000 times against an endless tide
We'll be free to live our lives..."

~Tokio Hotel, "1000 Oceans"

Updates:

8/4/09:

Wow, I've been super busy what with my wireless router dying (ugh, I'm restrained to the desktop computer now for only a few hours a day), and my birthday coming up! However, I've also been writing like crazy! I'm so proud of myself~

So I changed a few things with Daughter of The Moon again. There are still four parts to the series, but I've changed their order: Bringer of the Moon, the one that I'm writing right now, is now the first in the series. Then, Bringer of the Wolves. The other two are in the same order as before.

Speaking of BotM, I've finished chapter five and chapter six is coming along nicely! I've also pretty much set the remaining chapters in stone! So all that's left is to get it written. I'm hoping to finish chapter six and start up chapter seven by the time school starts... I hope!

6/30/09:

Wow... it's been a really long time since I last updated... again. I'm so sorry! At least there's some major progress that's been accomplished during this downtime!

So, Daughter of The Moon has definitely become the title of the entire series; yes, entire series! There will be four parts/books depending on length now! There's Book One: Bringer of the Wolves, which centers on the story of The Bringer(whose real name was Moonlight before she became a goddess in teh eyes of the wolves) in the very beginning of time. Book Two will be what I'm currently writing: Bringer of the Moon. Book Three will be Bringer of Storms, which as you may have guessed will center on Stormrider/Shadowwind. I love her character so much! Finally, Book Four will be called Bringer of Darkness. It'll be the story of Echosong, a new character that I can't talk about without giving away anything major. However, she finds herself walking in the pawsteps of The Bringer... And that's all that I'll reveal about the other books for now! I'm so excited to start writing the first one, so I may actually put BoTM on hiatus for a while... Plus, it only makes sense to do things chronologically, no? XD

In addition to coming up with the plot for the three other parts of the series, I've also gone through and completely rewritten Bringer of The Moon. Not revised, rewritten. I opened a new word document, put the old one next to it, and started typing. I got rid of stuff I thought was crap, added entire scenes, deleted entire scenes... It's pretty amazing now. I'm happy with it. So I'll also be reposting the entire series here shortly. I do advise rereading it, since I changed so much, but if you don't, I suppose you won't die... but you'll miss parts of the storyline~

2/28/09:

So I've decided to publish some of my more creative essays. I'd love your feedback on them!

2/27/09:

… I know. There’s no excuses for being gone this long. At least I posted chapter 6 around Christmas for you guys! The writer’s block has hit home with a vengeance, but I’m fighting it: I’ve decided that book one of the Daughter of the Moon series will be titled Bringer of the Moon, which you could have guessed.

However, this is new: I’m writing A PREQUEL! It will be titled Bringer of Storms. Unfortunately, you won’t get to read it as I write it. It pretty much ruins the storyline in BotM, since it’s everything that happened before Moonshimmer was born. I’m super pumped about this, and I think that it’ll help me get back in the groove. Plus, it’ll give me a more certain path as to where I’m going with the series in general.

6/15/08:

Wow... Chapter six of DoTM is coming along quite nicely!! I thought that this chapter would be boring, but I've found several ways to liven it up, and it's quickly become another of my favorites! And Good Lord, I'm amazing at writing cliff-hangers! XD I love writing them for some reason... It just doesn't feel as though the chapter is finished unless there's a good cliffie to end with!

6/6/08:

Now that I'm finally out of school, I can devote much more time to my stories. However, I have several summer projects that I need to do for my honors classes next year, so that will take up the next month or so. After that, I'll be focused on getting DoTM going again!!

My Stories:

Daughter of The Moon:

Book One: Bringer of the Moon: Moonshimmer's Story
A pack of wolves live in harmony... until a certain white she-wolf trots into their lives. Long before she was even born, a prophecy was foretold about a white she-wolf who would determine the fate of all wolves. Can she learn to accept her destiny before it's too late?

Book Two: Bringer of the Wolves: Moonlight's Story
In this primitive and savage world, anything goes. Can the beautiful Moonlight save the world from her bitter half-brother? Or will the Darkness take over even her pure heart... For where there is Light, a Shadow must be cast.

Book Three: Bringer of Storms: Stormrider's Story
Always the outcast of the Pack, Stormbringer hopes that things will finally turn around now that she's found a respectable mate. However, After the death of her pups, everything changes again, and it's not for the better. Can she escape the trauma of being responsible for the terrible death of her own pups, or will she too fall to the Darkness in her heart?

Book Four: Bringer of Darkness: Echosong's Story
Echosong is not like other wolves. First of all, she's blind, a condition that could end her life before it even has a chance to begin. Second, she has strange dreams that always seem to come true. And Third, she hears voices in her head. After The Bringer of the Moon sacrifices herself for all wolves, an era of peace descends upon the world. However, as time goes on, Echosong, begins to notice that perfection is only at the surface; Dark energy is threatening to overtake the world once more. Something went terribly wrong that stormy night in the cave. Can a blind wolf truly be destined to fix it, or does fate have more sinister plans for the daughter of Moonbringer...?

So, the extremely long rant about plagiarism and DoTM:

As I'm sure some of you know, I was having problems for a while after I realized that this was, in fact, a bit like The Sight by David Clement-Davies. Yes, I have read the book (actually, I've read it 76 times at last count), and no, THIS IS NOT A FANFICTION OF ANY SORT.

I know it seems as though it could be, but c'mon people! Did The Sight start out with the vicious murder of pups? or a trial? no. The only similarities as of now are that A) There's a villian who was exiled. B) it's a wolf pack. and C) Some of the wolves will eventually come to possess some form of supernatural powers. OMFG, Have you ever read a decent story without a villian? And... I am not even going to respond to that second one. If you have a problem with that, then why have you even read this far? As for the final similarity, my exact reaction is this: "... How many stories currently involve the use of "magic" or "supernatural powers"? A LOT. Get over it."

Now, on a less bitchy note, Let me just say that this is a really sore topic for me. I made several changes, ensuring that I would not get any more reviews informing me that my story was like Warriors because of the name/pack structure, or The Sight. When the sequel to The Sight, Fell came out finally, I was in tears by the end of the novel. It seemed as though I had some form of ESP: everything I changed seemed to only make it more like Fell. Now, could you please tell me how the hell I can copy something BEFORE IT IS EVEN PUBLISHED?!

HOWEVER! I promise you that this story is a lot different than The Sight, and my best friend Jillian (Thestoryteller19) can second that statement. She did, after all, help come up with a good portion of the plot, and she has never read The Sight, so if you accuse me of plagiarizing, I will merely point at her and then we will both start having a fit. --laughs--

My Poetry:

Angel In Time:
Okay, I wrote this when I was in 4th grade. I know it actually could use a lot of fixing up, but I can't bring myself to change it! I wrote it after my great-grandfather died of cancer, and I just... can't. I'm leaving it as it is. So any constructive criticism will be noted, but not necessarily fixed.

Lonely Heart:
This was a poem written during English class freshman year with my friend Kat, who is an AMAZING poet. Seriously. I suck, but between the two of us, we came up with this. I love it!

Nothing:
This was a poem that I just sort of randomly found while cleaning out my old binders full of crappy story ideas. --laughs-- It's old and it's most likely crappy, but what the hell. You know you want to read it, even if it's just so you can review and let me know how badly it sucks.

About Me:

Let's see... I LOVE to read, and it is difficult to catch me without a book in my hands!! I like to sing (but, I really suck at it more times than not), I love videogames, and writing (of course!!).

I'm a straight A student, and I’m competing with two other people for the top two spots. Stupid tie… I’m in all honors classes this year, save for science… Yes, I can hear you now: “You’re planning to be a vet and you’re not in honors science?! What’s wrong with you?!” I agree. Wholeheartedly. It was stupid. And not entirely my fault. Freshman year, I didn’t want to overload myself, so I picked to do regular biology to avoid the science fair. Then, when I was filling out my schedule for sophomore year, my teacher didn’t think that I could go from regular bio to honors chemistry without the general physical science class in between (I could have, by the way), so she didn’t sign my application. Thus, I’m taking General Physical Science this year. But that’s okay – I’ve already signed up for honors chemistry next year!

I’ve taken four years of French, and next year I’m going into 5. Not only am I continuing French, I’m taking German 1 & 2! Quite ambitious, I am. =P

I don't hate school, but there are other places I'd rather be (like asleep!!). The workload of an honors student? Ugh. Let's not go there. It's seriously killing what little time I had to write to begin with!

As I mentioned above on my "not taking honors bio" rant, I aspire to be a veterinarian someday, and have a deep love of animals! I myself have an adorable dog named Angel, and two gerbils (which if you refer to them as rats, you die. Ask TheStoryteller19. I'm very touchy about that. THEY ARE NOT RATS!!). I also have a wood frog that we caught up at our cottage, and a tree frog that we bought at the pet store.

So yeah, that's pretty much all about me!

Favorite Books:

--evil laugh-- This could go on forever, but I'll just put my top favorites...

The Warriors series by Erin Hunter, the Redwall series (Yes, all 27 of those damned books! XD), the Eragon trilogy, Harry Potter, the Clique series, the Leven Thumps, Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz, the Blue is for Nightmares series (also by Laurie Faria Stolarz), To Kill A Mockingbird, The Glass Menagerie by Tenessee Williams, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak…

…and It'll be best if I end the list there... Otherwise you'll injure your head when it falls down and collides with the keyboard. --laughs--

Favorite Anime/Manga:

SAILOR MOON!! In my opinion, Sailor Moon is the best manga and anime EVER!! I've been a fan since I was 5 years old!! If you've never seen or heard of this anime/manga, I feel for your poor deprived soul!! The only way to see it - since it was taken off the air and is out of print - is to either watch it on youtube or to buy off of e-bay or other sites like it... I did!! I'm the proud owner of all 5 seasons, including the untranslated season 5. I hope to have the world's largest Sailor Moon collection someday... Wow... see, this is what happens when someone mentions sailor moon!! I go into a long rant!!

Anyways... Other good ones that I enjoy are... Loveless, Fruits Basket, Inyuyasha, um... Guru-Guru Pon-Chan (really cute! I'm actually really sad that it's over now... sniffle), Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, Princess Ai, Wolf's Rain, Pretear, Scrapped Princess, Aria, Ultra Cute, Full Moon, Silver Diamond, and the list goes on and on and on and on...

Music:

I hate the hardcore rap, but I do like some of the hip-hop music... My favorite band of all time is Tokio Hotel. They are a German band, and they're AMAZING.

For my sweet sixteen, I got tickets to go to their concert in Detroit. The concert was two days after my actual birthday!! How amazing is that?! I have to say that it was the most amazing day of my life.

I do not have a favorite song by them (Hell, I have yet to find ONE song by them that I don't like!), but if I had to tell you which ones that I like best, they'd be...

1000 Oceans
Don't Jump
Rescue Me
Break Away
Raise Your Hands Together (Tom gets to do backup vocals!)
Unendlichkeit (Translates roughly to "Infinity")
Hilf Mir Fliegen (Translates to "Help Me Fly")
Beichte (Translates roughly to "Confessions")
Freunde Bleiben (Translates to "Remain Friends" -- this song is effing hilarious!)

So, the last four are in German, so search for them with subtitles (Unless you know German, in which case you are one of the luckiest people on Earth!)

Other than Tokio Hotel, I listen to groups like Panic! at the Disco, Fallout Boy, the All American Rejects, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, Plain White T's, All-Time Low, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Atreyu, The Maine, Cute is What We Aim For, Evans Blue, Finger Eleven, Flyleaf, Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Matchbox Twenty, Metro Station, Paramore, Skillet, Three Days Grace, Trapt ... Pretty much any type of alternative or indie rock... I hate country music with a passion. I also hate any music that was pre-1990s. ...come to think of it, most 90s music sucked as well. Ugh.

Television and Movies:

Okay, so Jericho on CBS was the most amazing show EVER. It's a fast-paced drama series, and it had excellent CONTENT, unlike all of those shitty reality-TV shows out these days. The sad thing is that CBS has cancelled it. Twice. Yes, twice. The first time, fans pulled together and managed to start a campaign titled "Nuts!" based off of the last line in the season 1 finale. Because of the amazing display of passion for the show, they brought back seven more episodes, which they labeled as season two. The season 2 finale turned out to be the series finale as well, but... it was a horrible ending to an awesome show. Instead of leaving the door open for other networks to pick up the show if they were interested, they left a GAPING HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. It was horrible... Nothing was wrapped up. There were so many loose ends, we could have made our own tasseled rug! I'm going to stop now... before I start screaming again.

I don't really watch that much TV anymore, but occasionally I'll watch Grey's Anatomy, Survivor, Private Practice... depends on what my mom has on when I come into the room. I used to watch Privileged and 90210 (new version), but I sort of stopped and never started watching them again. Oh, and my friend Jillian is trying to get me into LOST. It's working, but I'm still on season 1 so it's slow going!

Movies... Pirates of the Carribean series, Mr. Brooks (best horror movie EVER!), The Covenant, Deja Vu, Transformers... umm... I don't really watch that many movies either...

So! I have the most amazing friends in the whole entire world!

My friend Pie (Piewithpancakes) is an amazing author! Her sense of humor is often twisted, but she's awesome regardless~

Jillian (Thestoryteller19), as always, you're incredibly talented. You're a much better writer than I'll ever be, but you inspire me and push me to keep at it! Thanks so much for always helping me when I get into a jam with DoTM!

Blade! (William_Edgedale) I’m so happy that we got to know each other last year and that you don’t think I hate you anymore! You’re such a talented writer! I miss English class; we always had a blast with Pie, Jenna, and Tiffany! Hopefully we’ll have more classes together in the coming year! I heart thou!

Bradly (SHOTA-kun)... ily! You're amazing~ It's highly amusing that even though we couldn't even be in the same room without killing each other two years ago, we've come so far! You're all of the way up there with Jillian now in my book; You're both tied as my best friends!

And last, but certainly not least, Man-Man-Chan! (Amaya_Darkness), you're absolutely amazing! I know we don’t talk as often, but I don’t really feel like we’ve drifted that much, which is a great thing~

Ily all! For all of you readers out there that want to check them out, they are all in my favorites as well! I strongly suggest that you go read their work!
