Author has written 1 story for Fantasy.

The Name's Ashley, or Ash.

I'm 16.

I've been writing the story, "Fate's Design" for about a year now, and it's truthfully the first story that I've written that I'm happy with. Although, it went by several different names.
Its first name was Starting Over, as it was a redo from another story I wrote that I wasn't happy with. I changed it to Fate's Design after the 19th chapter I wrote, which was named Fate's Design. I realized that it would be a better name for the story than Starting Over, and decided to use that instead. Chapter 19 is still named Fate's Design, but now that is also the name of this story.

I know that this story is going to span into several sequels, as I have major plans for the plot and characters. One hint I'll give is the possible return of a character...

Maybe I'll be the next JK Rowling? Haha, yeah right. But, it's wishful thinking, ne?

That's all, I guess.

Okay, So I've been horrible as far as updating goes. But, a small note, Fate's Design is now different from the original. I decided that I really didn't like the set up and several of the chapters in the original, feeling that all they did was simply drag the story on, so they've been trashed for the most part. The general Idea behind them still exists, like the fact that they happened, but I definitely didn't take up three chapters on the details.

I also noticed a mistake in the plot. One of the major events wasn't really supposed to have happened the way I wrote it, I just got extremely over-excited when writing that particular chapter and messed up the whole entire plot. I realized this after re-reading and rethinking the way I wrote the story. But for the most part, I find this version to be much, much better than the original, and it's been a bit harder to write, but that's only because I actually have to seriously think about what I'm putting down and how it's going to affect the story in the future. Something that I wasn't really doing before, I was just writing as it came, which isn't really a bad thing, but it isn't a good thing either.

Maybe my friends will actually like this version? They didn't really like the theme behind the original...

Also, I'm really sorry to those that were reading the original, I didn't mean to delete it, I was going to leave it up with those chapters until this one was finished. My hand wasn't cooperating with my mind at the moment (or maybe it was the other way around) and I hit the delete button... speaking of buttons, the "N" button just flew off of my laptop... great... I hate that! fixing the thing is such a pain!

My writing on the computer issue is gone now, thankfully, but thats due to the fact that I bought a new flash drive just for this story, and because I'm not exactly revising the story (editing the original) but really remaking it, lot's of things are different now.

March 3rd, 2008Revisions are up in full swing now! After coming home from school today, I decided that since I had nothing to do, I would put the revisions up on my priority list. (The fact that I was fairly depressed helped me too.) I haven't gotten far, but It's going faster because I dropped my tradition of "writing before posting" and just started typing on the computer. This will probably screw me up in the future, but it's the only way that I'll be able to pull these revisions off.

I thank everybody that has patiently dealt with my laziness. As it is, I have two complete (as in they probably won't be needing another revision for a loong time) chapters up. I'm actually satisfied with the way that the first chapter worked, which is a major plus. (I've been unhappy with that chapter since I first started Fate's Design).

Other changes include names and the setting, which I listed on my last update here.

That's all! I will get back to the process of revising this whole story before I get tired. Maybe I'll be able to continue this after work at night. I actually have homework that I SHOULD be doing, but oh well lol! (Spanish homework..MEH)

January 15th, 2008

Revisions are going a lot slower than I thought they would. I hoped that I would be done by the end of Winter Vacation. But the addition of my job (I don't even have time to come home and take a shower before I go to work, my hours are 3:30 to 8:00, I get out of school at 2:40, and don't get home til 3:00.) and now Midterms have slowed me down incredibly.

As I tend to have about 2 hours at work daily that aren't busy, I will attempt to do the revisions there. My boss thankfully doesn't mind. In fact she always tells me that If I have any homework to do it, and she won't know that what I'm doing isn't homework lol.

More chapters have been added in the revision (WOOT lol) thanks to the fact that as I was rewriting, I took things out and added more "In Depth" stuff. Although I don't like spoiling, I'll let out that Ian (Riku) and Kira are still orphans, but the status of their adoptive parents has changed.

This whole week I'll be getting out of school early, so I think I should have time to continue the revisions, and after thursday, I have a total of 5 (!!) days off of school, for no real reason, either.

That's all for today, But I think it's safe to say that Fate's Design is on haitus until the revisions are complete! I may still post a chapter here and there; it'll just take longer for me to do so!

December 28th, 2007

I'm not updating today, for the simple fact that Fate's Design (Now Fate's Design: Earth and Gaia, the Beginning, as its supposed to have a sequel or two lol) is under going a serious amount of revisions. I'm re-writing the whole beginning, and I've decided that Riku's name is now Ian. Somehow, it fits him, because he does kind of act like my overly mature 5(!!) year old nephew.

Believe me, the kid knows more than he should. It's a shame lol!

All other names will remain the same, but with the possible addition of last names (surnames, sp?)

The setting is changing, as I can't adequately describe the city in which they live. So, its closer to home now! I'm sure that that was noticed when I wrote the chapter for Phebee's brithday. I'm sure I put Plantation instead of Sahuarita. I wasn't thinking when I did that, so I'm sure it confused a few people...

So, all in all,

Riku is now Ian.
Sahuarita will be changed to Plantation/ Miami (despite the two being over a hour away from each other)
3rd District is going to be more like Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
2nd District is generally Plantation's suburbs
1st District is more like Plantation Acres/ Sawgrass/ Haitus Rd.

Everyone, remember to Review! It would be highly appreciated!
