1/22 - Finals week! I was sick with pneumonia for three weeks, possibly the worst time to be out right before some of the largest tests of the year. I've been studying profusely and trying to make up all of my work, it's been hectic. I probably won't be able to update until this week has finished. Sorry!
Hello and welcome!
I'm an avid writer who loves words and the beauty of a well-crafted story. Writing is a great portion of my day, whether it be passages in Eternal or poetry that springs to mind. So far I only have one story posted, though the ideas of others have been germinating for some time - if I ever work up the courage, perhaps I shall eventually post them.
I also adore reading, preferring the classics and a good thriller to most other genres. Dostoevsky is a favorite of mine, as well as Dickens, Dumas, Woolf, and Edgar Allen Poe. Another passion of mine is music, my interest lying in French (Edith Piaf, Aznavour, Hardy), Alternative, Classical, Jazz/Swing, and the frequent opera. I tend to find music that is darkly rich and haunting the most beautiful, but am rather eclectic in my tastes.
My story:
Eternal: A tale that I've been creating for some time, it chronicles the life and trials of Anna Killingworth, the woman promised to Death. It is the unravelling of her history paired with the forging of her future as she struggles between the desire to resist her suitor only to find herself slowly drawn within his captivating aura. She is only human after all, and faces the fear, anxiety, and refusal to submit that characterize the human spirit. This is very much a romance, dark and subtle.
