About me: I am a hopeless romantic who will never get married. I've always had an interest in romance, I've never had a girlfriend in my life. I am not carefree, but I do believe that worrying is unhealthy. I believe in unpopular concepts like "love thy enemy" and "turn the other cheek," and I do my best to follow them.
I enjoy cheerfulness, brightly lit rooms, and happy smiles. And throwing knives. Those are good too. Fencing is fun as well.
Ted Dekker is one of the greatest modern authors, and I will defend that statement to the death. (Not really, but I will argue over it.)
Stories
Note: I hope one day to put PentRuneCross, Heritage, Uchito, Blade&Bullet, and Running Shadow into a manga format. Others may have similar fates, but some such as Legend Chronicles, Tempter, and all of the Novelettes are destined to remain as they are.
Ongoing Stories
PentRuneCross: This is a story that takes place around...the 2070's. To make it simple, a Catholic organization tried to imprison Satan before the Second Coming, and ta-da, the world gets screwed up. Humans can access magic without the help of demons, and it is much easier to become psychic. Demons can become physical and can possess without permission. With demons now able to unleash a physical grade of damage to the world, there are people who make it a profession to curb the demonic crisis. The story follows a team of professional demon-slayers; a psychic, a mage, an alchemist, a swordfighter, and a marksman.
Reyanoc: It takes place in a fictional world where global warming has caused partial world destruction. The equatorial regions have been destroyed. The temperate zones are getting warmer, but they're safe for at least thirty years. Everyone with money and/or power is escaping to the colder regions, which will remain safe for a long time. The main character, Reyanoc, is a "Guardian"; a member of an anti-terrorist organization connected to the government. Reyanoc wants to rise in the ranks so he can pull enough strings to get himself out of the temperate country he lives in. On his first mission, he finds a small, frail-looking girl without any know relatives, and he finds it in his heart to help her escape too. But there's a problem; it is almost impossible to (legally) get someone else out of a country without incredible sums of money. The only way for him to help her is through human smuggling. If he's caught, neither can leave the country on any conditions, and Reyanoc will be dishonorably discharged. He must make a choice: risk everything on someone he barely knows, or protect himself and hope that fate will be kind on the girl?
Archangel: This started out as a joke with myself. I realized that there are a lot of online comics made by girls with angels in them. These angels are always pretty people, and often half of them are good and the other half bad, or all of them are good. I like reading my bible a lot, and biblical angels have a tendency to be extremely scary things, not "ooh...purty...". People had a tendency to almost cry and pee their pants when they saw angels. Anyway, I figured that I should write a story about angels, real or referenced, that adhered to their original level of non-fluffiness. "Michael's Legion" is a terroristic organization with undeclared goals made up of escaped human biological weapon experiments, and the experimental progression was named "The Angel Project". Every experiment was given an angelic name and has some sort of inhuman power, ranging from pyrogeneration to ESP to glowing in the dark. Another terroristic organization, "The Army of the Lord", is a Christian militant group that targets anti-Christian judges, lawmakers, executives, businessmen, and anyone else that they think needs removal. They are made up of rather normal people. Both organizations are lead by men named Michael. At one point, they meet, and the result is the conflict of this story.
Legend Chronicles: This one is a fantasy series of snips and tidbits of the events in the fictional world of Tirania. It hops around the lives of many groups of people, who occasionally interact, and often overlap. There is no main plot, though some subplots are more prominent than others. Each chapter, which I call acts since they aren't really chapters, is almost like a short story, revolving around a specific person or party. I wish I could explain more, but there are too many plots to describe, and few of them even last much longer than ten acts.
Heritage: This was one that was inspired by a number of stories. FLCL, Full Metal Panic, and Unearthly (which you should look up if you have the chance--it's good, but it doesn't sell very well). It's about a town named Isol in the middle of nowhere, specifically Ohio, where normally nothing happens. Then one day, an odd boy named Nolan arrives. Little does the town know that he's actually a space alien from a semi-galactic empire searching for a specific person he needs to turn the tide of a galactic war! The person is a wallflower named Echo, who is pulled from the simple routine of her normal, boring life into a crazy, gun-totin', explosion filled adventure.
Uchito: The Lord of the Katana: I've had this idea for a looooooong time. It started out as an RPG character, then realized that I could make a whole world out of it. Anyway, it's about a boy named Uchito, who lived in a country based off of medieval Japan in a fictional world. His days were simple; work in the morning, train with the master in the afternoon, and hang out Katsuko in the evening. One day, all went awry when the project home his family, master, and girlfriend live in is burnt down. He tries to go in, but he can only reach his master, who is already crushed underneath a beam. He gives Uchito his prized sword, a bag full of traveling equipment, and tells him to finish his training on his own. Uchito accepts this command, leaves his home villiage, and embarks on a journey to fulfill Gan-sensei's final wish. He travels all of Aesha (Asia), Erop (Europe), and even the desert lands (the Middle East) to meet as many different kinds of warriors as possible, having many adventures along the way.
Novelettes
The Sacred Sword of Eliot: A novelette that is not completed that takes place in a medieval setting, where a random boy unknowingly takes a national treasure, specifically, a sword. Naturally, his ignorance causes a bit of trouble.
Brimstone: I made this up when I was bored. It takes place in a fictional world, where several large countries are at war. It takes multiple perspectives, from both sides and from all ranks. I don't really know where I want it to go yet, so for the moment, that's all I can really say about the story. Oh, but there will be dragons. Mm... dragons...
Lampstand: This one was inspired by The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis. Not the plot, but the concept of describing a deep story through a series of letters. The world is 1984-ish, except there are still a healthy amount of people who remember what the world was like before the oppression. The underground rebels, who call themselves the Seventh Lampstand (A biblical reference. Look it up.) can only communicate in the sewers and crowded streets, the only places not under surveillance. The main character, the writer of the journal that we read, is one of the initiates, and he describes the slow and dangerous process of rebellion.
Short Stories
Silent Thunder: I made this short story for class, but I think it's awesome even though normally stories I write for class aren't that great. Basically, it's a story about a terrorist sniper...that doesn't want to be a terrorist sniper. Go figure.
Running Shadow: A short story I made when I was bored. It's about a nameless fugitive running from bounty hunters and federal officers. Long story short, this guy is a beast. I never mention it in the story directly, but he took out a world-class sniper from two hundred meters away...with a revolver. Yeah. The best feds are almost as good, but the "almost" is what makes the story interesting.
Blade&Bullet: Bored, bored, bored. I seem to make up most of my stories when I'm bored. B&B is a short story about a future world war, with a high-class agent as the protagonist. She is trying to find a particular item of value, but she has a confrontation with an agent on the other side. Bullets fly, a sword flashes, and we have ourselves an action story.
The Tempter: I made this one for school. I didn't like it too much, but I guess it's okay. It takes place in a modern setting, and it's about a group of demon-slayers hunting down a tempter demon that has caused some havoc. It was sort of a first-draft PentRuneCross.
Songs
The Demon in the Snow: Originally, this was supposed to be about the bullying I went through when I was younger, but...something else happened. I like how it turned out though. If played in full, with all verses, choruses, and solos, it takes about 6' 40" to play. My first song, and I really like it, considering I just made it up as I went along. I wish I could've ended it better, though. The intro and choruses are slow and rather gentle, but the verses are loud, fast, and harsh.
Rectify: The entire song is a sideways reference to the novel 1984. I was reading the book, and it made me want to write a song, so... I did. It's very bass and vocal heavy, with guitars supporting from the background.
Wicked: This song is an excuse to play tons of long solos. There is no chorus, and every verse is a description of the instrument that is about to have their solo. There's seven verses; lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, drum, piano, vocal, and then one where all the instruments play all of their solos at once (or something like that...I never gave it that much thought). It's a simple song, so it's easy to take out verses if you don't have all six musicians.
Path: A song about the repetitiveness of the world's history, particularly the lack of novelty in terrorism and mis-government.
Only I: Um... I just made this up one night when I was watching Naruto. It's based on the concept that every person has different needs, and we can't assume that there is a standard that can be applied to everybody.
Poems
Element: This one took me two years to write. Yeah, I'm slow. :P At least it's long. It's uses Aristotlean elements as metaphors for hardships, then switches over to astral elements.
