Author has written 6 stories for Fantasy, and General.

I have a new account! It's: Potion. It is my 'story in three weeks' account. So... I don't know if I'll be updating old muscular k for a while...

I'm editing Abby the Witch and putting it up on Authonomy. So if you see the story there, I'm not plagiarising myself! My pen name there is Monique Marks.

Gladys the Guard

Gladys is a nerd. She knows this, it would be hard not to know this with all the time she spends at the arcade. But here's the catch - she's not a teenage boy, she's a young woman in her early 20's and, yes, she's still going to the arcade. Kinda sad ha? Well there's another catch, and it's a big one, she's good at it - real good. Gladys has the aim of a highly trained sharp shooter. And as if that isn't enough, after a strange visit from a hale old woman, Gladys finds she has all kinds of other abilities too. The kinds of abilities that are relegated to comics and super hero films.

Things start to get really interesting when denizens of the dead, huge 7ft tall sand jackals, are called up from an ancient Egyptian curse and start to swarm Gladys' tiny sea side town. Nerds, Gladys has to remind herself, aren't meant to live out their video game fantasies and jump over the rooftops chasing mythological creatures. Oh and there's one other thing nerds should never do - fall in love with hot army captains. But hey, Gladys is just breaking all the rules...

The Agent

Agent Mira works for a strange shadowy agency called (imaginatively) the Agency. She's worked there for as long as she can remember, perhaps because the work itself is really quite memorable. It's hard to forget she forms part of the line of defence between good and bad - between Heaven itself and the fiery depths of Hell. However, the section of the defensive line she inhabits is minuscule and quite literally insignificant... That is until everything changes.

A series of strange apparent 'coincidences' sees Mira pitted against creatures far beyond her skill. It almost seems as if someone has it in for her... But when her misadventures push her straight into the arms of the Agency's finest officer, she gets a little distracted. And then things just get darn right crazy. From the sudden appearance of a child like angel, and her more abrupt insistence that she is Mira's new flat mate, to the terrifying ramblings of a police Inspector - it's no wonder Mira is having trouble keeping up.

All too slowly, however, her hunky top Agent, Michael, begins to catch up. But will he be fast enough to realise what is happening before it's too late? And will he be able to make the distinction between loyalty to a friend and loyalty to the Agency itself?

Abby the Witch

(being edited and uploaded on Authonomy under the pen name Monique Marks

Please note, the ending of this story (chapter 16 onwards) will be changed one day. I'm really not happy with it and I know it doesn't fit the story at all. So when I have the time and inspiration, I'll rework it.

Abby is a witch, well mostly she just washes windows, but she is supposed to be a witch. But there's just one problem, she's living in a city that's gone and banned witches. You'd think Abby would leave, but Abby is painfully proper, and a witch simply cannot leave her territory because she has become unwelcome.

But then Abby meets a certain boy, a Commander in the Royal Navy to be precise. The problem is, theirs is no ordinary meeting. It was never meant to happen at all. And there's always a problem when things that aren't supposed to happen start happening - things break. Unfortunately for Abby, however, what she ends up breaking cannot easily be mended. In fact, the only way to fix her problem is to do something unthinkable.

But can Abby learn over the course of her adventures to stop doing what is proper and start doing what is right?

Zero

I wrote Zero as an exercise to see what I could write in three weeks. So I can guarantee that this story is rambling, choppy, weird and full to the brim of typos. Please take this as a warning: don't read on unless you have the patience of a saint!

Oatmeal is just your average deadbeat bounty hunter hopping from planet to planet trying to make a buck. He likes guns, fights and anything that involves chasing people with a weapon and screaming. He has a side kick named Jelly and a half brother named Steve.

But then she comes along. She whines, complains and screams. She's annoying and totally aggravating... but she has got money, and Oatmeal likes money. He agrees to take her off planet earth for a substantial fee. Along the way they run into the Galactic Police, a terrorist organisation and a plot to destroy the Milky Way... oh, and brother Steve.

Experiment 209: Alexandra

Lilly Charlton has just inherited the world's fourth largest shipping company. She's barely 26, a graduate in psychology, is far too easily frightened and knows nothing about ships. So when one of her company's largest vessels - a 250,000 tonne crude tanker - goes missing somewhere off the coast of Australia, Lilly hasn't the slightest idea what to do.

Her friends suggest she sells the company, the board suggests she go hang, but her lawyer suggests something else entirely. Mr Eli Goldberg has friends in the Australian Navy, friends who have led him to believe that Lilly's tanker may not have sunk after all. But in trying to find out the truth, Lilly finds herself propelled from her ordinary world to a structure in the middle of the Indian Ocean: Oil Rig Alpha 209.

There she meets Alexandra.

La Lune

Levanah is on the run from perhaps the most powerful organisation in the world. Known simply as the 'Sect', they have been hunting her all over the globe for the past three years. But Levanah is no ordinary agent, nor is the Sect an ordinary organisation. Existing for more than 2,000 years it is the Sect's sworn goal to protect humanity from the threat of witches. It trains and deploys specialised agents to combat this ancient scourge.

But things are not as they seem and soon Levanah finds herself on a completely different playing field. Thrust together with an unlikely team that includes a run away mining heir, an ex mercenary turned bodyguard, and a mysterious man from her past, Levanah must find a way to adapt. Can she find out what the Sect has in store for her before it is too late? Or will she simply find that, in the end, she has been playing their game all along...
