Hello, all.

I'm afraid I can't reveal much personal information, though it is possible to find my name and nationality if you search hard enough in the forums I frequent. At any rate, feel free to call me Equilibrium, Equi, E, or any short forms you may think up.

What's there to say about myself? Well, I'm female, and a Leo. In terms of age, I'm too young to drive, but too old to be in middle school - which means that I'm sadly too old to be excused for my occasional fits of immaturity. My height is approximately five foot seven - sort of tall, at least around where I live - and I'm underweight no matter how much I pig out. I have brown eyes and straight black hair, kept short because I don't exactly relish the effort it'd take to care for long hair.

I'm generally a cheerful person. It doesn't take much to make me happy, but I particularly enjoy engaging in artistic pursuits, writing, reading, horseriding (showjumping, to be precise), and snoozing (which often continues way past lunchtime). Among my favourite places are the stable, the bookstore, the library and the art-shop. My idiosyncrasies include imbibing copious amounts of coffee, researching mythological creatures, and spending time with my horse and my chinchilla and my cats. My favourite colours are blue, purple, black, silver, and gold.

The list of things I dislike is, thankfully, far shorter - I generally avoid pink, bright orange, neon green, monkeys, orang-utans, gorillas, chimpanzees, cockroaches, bees, wasps, dressing up, long discussions about music (I'm tone-deaf), pink glittery things, and stuck-up people. That's about it.

Thanks for checking out my profile. If you have any questions or comments about my story, "Experiment Thirteen", please feel free to PM me (or, better, leave a review). It's not particularly well written, but bear in mind that it is my first story, and that I'm still a student whose only practise in the art of weaving fiction comes from school essays. I'm always looking to improve my writing, though, so your tips and constructive criticism are much appreciated.

State your intentions, Muse. I know you're there.
Dead bards who pined for you have said
You're bright as flame, but fickle as the air.
My pen and I, submerged in liquid shade,
Much dark can spread, on days and over reams
But without you, no radiance can shed.
Why rustle in the dark, when fledged with fire?
Craze the night with flails of light. Reave
Your turbid shroud. Bestow what I require.

But you're not in the dark. I do believe
I swim, like squid, in clouds of my own make,
To you, offensive. To us both, opaque.
What's constituted so, only a pen
Can penetrate. I have one here; let's go.

He was their greatest creation. Their deadliest weapon. But, in all their plans, the enemy never expected that their killing machine would fall into the hands of an unsuspecting teenage girl who, incidentally, has no idea how to use him.
