Author has written 6 stories for Fantasy, Sci-Fi, General, and Fantasy.

August 26, 2009

As of earlier this month, the first draft for King of Worms is officially DONE!! I must admit to a great deal more comfort with editing than with writing itself. Somehow it just feels less daunting to work on something that actually exists. There's a quote that's stuck with me over the past few years, though I can only paraphrase: There is no such thing as good writing, only good revision. With that in mind, I hope that if fantasy's your thing and you enjoy my story, you'll leave a little feedback before you X out.

Thanks, and enjoy your reading (whatever it may be)!

I am an avid reader and writer who loves a good story whether it's real or imagined (though I do prefer to know the difference--mischevious little sisters can make this difficult). Aside from your standard high school English classes and college requirements, I have also taken courses in creative writing and journalism, and have had the good fortune to meet several authors and professional writers. Before any and all of that, however, I started writing just as I believe many authors do: with an idea that would not leave me alone, maybe a little more free time than I knew how to appreciate, and absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into.

I began my first book, Lavardia, back in eighth grade and spent my first two years of high school writing and editing. That story is officially complete in that I have decided to move on to other things - like the above-mentioned classes and below-mentioned new 'project.'

Now that I have one book in my lap, I have realized just how much more I have to learn about writing and storytelling, and how much farther I have to go before I can be the combination of both that I hope someday to become. King of Worms is another project that was never meant to be more than maybe twenty pages, but here it is now, considerably longer and nowhere near done despite my present giddiness. I look forward to and appreciate any constructive feedback, positive or negative, that you, dear reader, may be able to provide.

King of Worms updates Fridays, and Lavardia will resume posting once I have caught up the chapters on my DeviantART page. Other random pieces of poetry and short fiction will appear unannounced.

Thanks for reading! And for my fellow aspiring authors...write on!
