I'm not too terribly good at these profile things - never certain of what to write or what people want to see here. I guess one thing I should address is the contents of my poetry here. None of it is really 'main-stream' poetry, I guess. I am trying to direct towards a darker and not always welcomed area. This isn't because I am trying to piss people off or anything, though I know some of my things will or at least offend (let alone confuse :P). I am trying to explore the side that every human has, but rarely touches. I want to see the taboo things inside myself, and others/the world, and try to understand it. Not all things are light, happy, and innocent and I want to try my hardest in expressing that with my poetry.
Also, my own life - up to this point - has been, if fact, quite boring. Many of the things that I write about are not from experience, but speculation. I try to see myself as having a empathetic imagination, where I can picture someone else's way of life and deduce what it is they would be feeling during that circumstance. (Good thing I'm quite the daydreamer:P )
Now if people do not understand the things I write, or simply wish to discuss them, leave a note or a review. I will be glad to talk though I cannot say how often I can get back to people. But that being said, please, for those who may not like what I write, do not leave random flames or negative comments. While I will gladly take constructive crit, anything else will simply get you ignored and your comment deleted.
Things/People That Have Influenced/Inspired My Writing and Writing Style
Till Lindemann (of Rammstein) - For those who know who this man is, also most likely know how great a poet and lyricist he is. This man wields words like a warrior wields a sword. Though I haven't had the pleasure of reading his book of poetry, 'Messer', Till is someone whose example I can use as a guideline in my own work because, like with what I try to do, he strips the flowery surface and common wordage most people use when writing.
Rammstein - To include Till, but not the band as a whole, would be a major failing on my part. The band, Rammstein, influenced me before Till did on his own. Six men who, instead of simply trying to entertain their fans with their music, try to say something. It is also because of them that I first really heard of BDSM, which led me to read and learn more about it. They were the catalyst that led to understanding a part of myself I had previously thought was abnormal.
Viggo Mortensen - Again someone, if you know who he is and the work he does, you will know why I would label him an influence and inspiration. Viggo was influencing my work years before I started listening to Rammstein or Till. Though his style isn't as raw as the previous two, his simple and direct way of saying things in his poetry is something I have tried to keep on with my own work. He is also a great photographer which inspires me in that area as well. :P
Music - That's right - just music. When I'm writing, I always have music playing - usually full blast through my headphones. It helps me block out any distracting stimuli that may be around me - making nearly anyplace I am a good place to write. And, of course, the type of music or particular song I'm listening to has some effect on what/how I write. 'Frage' by the German band Eisbrecher is, I think, what I listened to when I wrote Dream and Icarus. On the other hand, I was listening to the 'Reise, Reise' album by Rammstein when I wrote Connection. Music, aside from keeping me from being distracted, also sometimes helps put me in the mood to write by numbing all other emotions and thoughts inside me but the ones I want to put down on paper.

'I've always felt there were aspects of me that were monstrous, and you can either hide from it or confront it, embrace it and understand that those are aspects that make you unique and define you and motivate you. You can either overwhelm or overcompensate for them - but they truly define you as a human being. So that life became a question of either dealing with this monstrousness in one way or another. One finds a way to understand and make friends with that monster and understand that that's the very thing that makes you who you are. That's your emotional and spiritual fingerprint.' -Ron Perlman
