Since I've finally uploaded something that isn't "Fun With Phobia," I figured I should tell you a little bit about the story I consider my true baby, "Summer Skin," as it makes its way into the world.

1. Fun fact - "Summer Skin" wasn't supposed to be the title. I used it so I'd have something with which to label my computer files, then never got around to changing it. I finally decided that I actually like it. Oughta make the Death Cab fans smile. :-)

2. I'd love to get the "Phobia" fans on board, but don't expect the same story, or even the same kind of story. "Phobia" was not remarkable for its realism, to say the least, while "Summer Skin" will be more believable (I hope) and less pure fluff. I've been writing this story for years, and by now the characters are like real people to me. Real people just can't be cute or lovable all the time.

3. I totally understand the mentality of people who want adorable, improbable romance fics as a kind of escapism--because I'm one of those people. I don't expect "Summer Skin" to be a huge success for this reason, but no worries-- I'll keep posting no matter what.

4. Unfortunate bit of math: 4 college classes + homework + 1 job + extracurriculars + 2 volunteering 'jobs' = not much time for writing. Hang in there, and I promise I'll keep the updates coming whenever I can. :-)
