Author has written 10 stories for Fantasy, Life, and Sci-Fi. Hi! No I'm not... I'm just your average normal freak. And an authoress. And musician, but never you mind that. After all, you won't exactly be listening to my squeaking and squawking--unless by any chance you know me personally. But, since "Music is my life" comes to mind... The above was just about my life in a nutshell...without the nutshell... Updates are posted here. Most of my stories take place in Namark, the little world I've lived in for a few years now. And a little warning... My inspiration comes and goes at random intervals, and isn't always reliable in the "making sense" department. Updating days are extremely tentative, and subject to extreme temperatures and pH...wait a minute--that's enzymes. Okay... Well, in short, it's hard to tell when I'll update. Lately, I've been really good at shaping my, albeit hard to find, spare time into writing time, and that's working out well... It's just hard to tell what I'll update next. Also, due to an ever-changing schedule at school, it can be hard to find sufficient times to update. I'm working on it, but there are times when it may be weeks or months between updates. It's harsh, I know, but from my experience, schoolwork comes first. Umm...I think that's it. Oh. And keep in mind, everything gets shaped in my head, taking the form of random conversations and movie-like scenes. Or rather, life-like scenes. As a result, there are some things--or many--that need editing, and revising, and some of them don't make sense, or don't sound right. And I can't guarantee editing while I write--it just doesn't work like that for me. However, I do try to convey my thoughts and feelings, and hope that anybody reading my writing will bear with me, and maybe--just maybe--help me to improve the order of things as they take shape--sometimes sketchy, sometimes loopy, but still shape--from the depths of this strange, beautiful, colorful land of the penguins. Did I mention that they're everywhere? --NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE--NOTICE-- I don't know how many of you will read this, but it's important. I have exams coming up in approximately two weeks, and a concert in less than one. Not only that, but it's certainly been awhile since I've been able to update, for other reasons. I will still be continuing my stories. I've just been having a hard time. And because of this, any updates will be posted here. Shadowlance: I'm working on rewriting. I'll try to post an author's note as soon as possible; but if anyone gets a chance to look at it, the first two or three chapters have been replaced. Only Half: I am currently in the middle of the fourth chapter. --END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE--END NOTICE-- Scribble Board Shadowlance: Chapter Sixteen up! I may add some more, seeing as I wrote all that in a very short time...but for now, I'm leaving it... In Their Shoes: A oneshot (my first!) inspired by the Christmas season. But the topic's also come up a lot in a couple books I've been reading (ahem, New Moon), and the movie "The Mummy". You'd be surprised who you trust when you happen across desperation and great need. I know I was. But it's fiction. I don't know who the main character is--maybe one of my little voices. Completed. Woo hoo! Mirror, Mirror: On a pretty permanent hiatus status. I'm thinking of ending it there, along with so many other "Chapter Ones". Robin and Rowyn: Temporary hiatus due to a shiny not-so-new writer's block and a scene I desperately want to avoid, for potentially graphic reasons. No estimated times here, it could take quite awhile. Building Bridges: This is a little experiment I'm doing--it's a series of oneshots, taking place in Namark, the world of "Shadowlance". Some common characters include Shadowlance (or Terril Johnson), Rainev Iliar (Nev), Lacuna (Luna), Jaedan, and Weasel (Lakai). Most of them are supposed to be emotional--but I've still got some revisions to do...like on the first one. The latest one is "Fears of Leaving", starring Nev. It takes place in the same storyline as "Save Me From Suicide", "Building Bridges", and "Homecoming and Heartache"; time-wise, it takes place a little after "Suicide". It was inspired in part by "I'll Try", by Jonatha Brooke, from the movie "Peter Pan: Return to Neverland". Demons of Devil's Pass: A collection of Halloween-based oneshots. Not much else to be said. Current contents--"Skeletons and Soothing Pain", and "London Bridge". Random Skylights: A series of oneshots, written as an experiment. Some are completely random, some are not. I am attempting a sort of free-writing style, kind of like some school assignments got a few years ago. Current contents--"Not Allowed", "Blind Color", "The Truth That Lies", "Remembering", "Never Lose Hope", "Questions", "Painting Pictures", "A Traveler's Boots", "Blank Pages", "Disappearance", "Wishing for You", "Forever Love", "Burning Tree", "Drawn In", "Worst Fears", "Narcissist", "Encompass", "Pain-Filled Disparity", "Silent Earpiece", "Taking Detours", "Will-o'-whisper", "The Singing Bird", "Sneaking In", "Strange Familiarities", "Light Breezes", "Home", "Bittersweet Wind", "Dancing Sun", "Fairgo", and "Not Home". Only Half: Pain is relevant to circumstance. Loss, hunger, thirst, all these seem inconsequential, really. Because in the face of loneliness, the feeling of being misplaced, of not belonging, what really matters? No one deserves that kind of pain...do they? This is tied to "Shadowlance" in a big way, but I've been trying to improve my style a bit. After all, it's been a while since I started the experimental "Random Skylights"... But this does not mean that I'm not continuing the others. I just had an idea. A big idea, that started a few years ago, but an idea nevertheless. Updates: Chapter Three's up! I've also got a favor to ask. If you would please pay special attention to the story, and the very end of the chapter, that would be great. I just don't think it's...enough. I'm working on the story part, but I kind of wrote myself into a corner at the end of the chapter. And so, that being said, suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thicker Than Water: A poem...some ties are thicker than water...like blood... There's not too much to say about this, other than that. I don't know if it's only a oneshot or something more--it's posted as "complete", with the only chapter being "Ties Like Blood". Inspired by...I don't know. Double Cross: A strange, rather random idea I had--it's a continuation of a second-person monologue-ish thing in one of my notebooks. Imagine a world in which everything is perfect. There are no problems whatsoever--everyone is the same, a perfect image of the perfect person. Now imagine if the people who tried creating this utopia failed utterly, caused wars which annihilated nearly everyone on the planet. Those that are left are either half-dead or cast out of society. It is this second half that make up the real survivors. The only problem? They're not exactly human. Well, that's all for now. BANG! CRASH! Wasn't me! | |||||||
