Oi mates!

Alright, so you guys can call me Fido (please, please don't ask why). I am absolutely head over heels for writing, so here I am!

Anyhow, interesting stuff about me:

... Wow, I've just realized what an uninteresting person I am... Well, I love paranthesises (like this one here) and I am officialy married to sarcasm (honest, I have a legitimate certificate from bored.com). The two loves of my life are words and music. I play piano, can strum a few chords on a guitar and am desperately attempting to learn the bass. My lifelong dream is to write a full musical, combining my two loves in one beautiful (cough) work.

I'm from Canada, and I am a true french-frog at heart. I'm the freak that will get super offended whenever I go to McDonald's and the cashier can't speak french. Ironically, all my stories are in english...I have no shame, do I? So, pour ma gang de francophone, salut!

When I read a book, I read it for the characters. The storyline doesn't matter to me, as long as the characters are interesting. This sort of reflected itself in my own writing escapades. I try to put in alarmingly "special" characters and end up forgetting the general plot. I like to think that it's still a fun ride, though.

Anywho, if anyone out there happens to read my less-than-fantastic work, I would really appreciate feedback (preferably constructive criticism, but I could not care less if it's a flame or not).

Avec tout mon amour,

Fido

Well, 2009 is here. So, as promised, I will return to writing and posting. I thought I'd also make a quick rundown of what I'm posting at the moment, and what is to come.

The Chronicles of Razengard 1: The Invisible Blade: Work in progress. Fantasy/Adventure. I thought up of this story when I was in seventh grade, and finally decided to start writing it down. The story came into my head while I was addicted to Harry Potter. So, that ends up giving a school that teaches teens the basis of magic, exorcism and the best ways to chop off an ogre's head. There's only one rule: "if you survive, you get to graduate." More meant for older children than teens, it should still be a fun ride for anyone.

Because I said so!: Work in progress. Romance/Humor. Previously titled "Drabble". This is a "He said/She said" story and it is my favorite to write. Contrary to Razengard, this one happens in a small canadian town and, believe it or not, no one gets murdered! Well, unless the two main characters manage to kill each other. Meet Martin and Madeleine: two teens that have been trying to take each other down for so long, they don't know what they do when they fall for each other (okay, so that's a horrible word game, but work with me). And then, as thought it wasn't enough, their teachers force them to work together and write a song. Of course, the little fact that they are both hellbent on using sarcasm at every oppurtunity is a big part of the fun, too.
Favorite quote so far: "How about I throw myself out the window instead?" "Yeah, you can grade him on the sound his body makes when he splatters to the ground. I'll write a poem afterwards." "There you go! Music and lyrics!"

Selenophobia: Coming soon. Modern fantasy. After the big fuss over Twilight, I just had to write something of the like. And so, I present to you my main character Jamie. She is perfectly normal, if you forget the following offences: tomboy, afraid of the dark, compulsive counter, paranoia, carrying a baseball bat everywhere... That, and dead bodies keep showing up wherever she goes. So, in the hopes that a fresh start will make things better, she moves to Ottawa. No one told her that she was going to have to share that house with a bunch of particular teens - which include, but are not limited to: werewolves, vampires, ghosts and the boogeyman. Home sweet home, eh?
Favorite quote so far: "Where have you been all your life? Living in a redneck's back pocket?" "Sorry, I've been kind of busy being dead."
