Author has written 4 stories for Fantasy, and Sci-Fi.

Hey,

I've just finished my second year at the University of the West of England (UWE) in sunny Bristol. I'm taking Business Studies and have one finished fanfiction story to my name. I've been away from writing for a little while due to being distracted by shiny pretty things, but I'm back now. A Black Library contest caught my attention so I entered that but failed to get through to the second round. I'll probably post that piece on fanfiction or something. Regardless, I saw someone mention a book on writing by Stephen King called erm, "On Writing." I wanted to give the things I'd learnt a go, so setup my toolbox, found myself a competition brief and wrote something for it. The first example of this is Sun Kissed.

Sun Kissed is about a wedding gone wrong and the brief required it to be set in a fantasy or sci-fi (I chose the latter) setting. I really enjoyed writing it so I hope you'll take a gander at it and let me know what it's like. It has an explosive ending to say the least ;) I'm hoping to write more for competitions soon. Maybe I'll submit them too XD

Other stories I've started (but not touched because, having read "On writing," it's probably because I'm unconsiously scared of touching them. I'll work on them one day). When I did my first fanfic, I wrote it as I went along, so the plot evolved in my head. There was no central beginning, middle and end. This is where I believe I've gone wrong and how I kept writing myself into a hole. I've got all these characters that I've made, but nowhere to put them! With Sun Kissed, I basically knew what I was doing.

Please feel free to offer any and all opinions, whether it's through a review or PM. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Stories:

Darkworld I (In-progress on fictionpress): Hopefully the first in a series for my fictional world, Darkworld. The story focuses on Dax, the last true elf. It it set in a modern/ post-modern era and focuses mainly on the struggle with the Orcs of the Machine. It's basically a different take on a fantasy world, making it dark and gritty. I've always wondered how people would get along with "traditional" fantasy races in a modern setting, hence Darkworld.

The Beguiling Stone (In-progress on fictionpress): A piece started because I've hit a deadend with Darkworld and can't face reworking it. Yet, anyway. Basically, it tells the story of the Shadow Walkers, a group of warriors who can bring back the souls of the dead. Relations between the Tajans and the Celanites are broken down and the two go to war when the Celan prince Thelios is killed, a move which is instigated by the etheral Wraiths. There's two sides to this story, with no real evil party. There's just shades of grey.

Selfless (In-progress on fictionpress): A short-story piece I'm using to practice with. It tells the story of the lengths that some people will go to to get want they they want. Set in the city of Aurora, the warrior-general Magnus has proposed to the lady Elysia yet her heart secretly yearns for the arrogant merchant Antonus. Whilst her heart and mind battle over the prospects, Antonus sets out a plot that will ultimately decide for her and perhaps even destroy Aurora in the process.

Rise and Fall 1 and 2 (Grand Theft Auto Fanfiction): Rise and Fall was my first story and can be found on the Fanfiction website. The first tells the story of Miguel de Fidio and how he was setup to lose everything from money to his wife. The second story, which is incomplete, will catalogue the rise and fall of Frankie Benetorie, a one-time street racer and drug smuggler. Frankie's story is more gritty than Miguel's and contains sex and violence from the start. It is GTA after all.
