Author has written 2 stories for Action, and Supernatural. Hello All! Age:20 Occupation: unemployed student Major: International Relations with Concentration in The Middle East and Asia City: New York City, baby Some top favorite books of mine are: Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi, Kite Runner by Khaled Hussein, Atonement by Ian McEwan, Perfume:The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Suskind, translated by John E.Woods (A MUST read), Lolita by (who else but) Vladimir Nabokov, and Invitation to a Beheading by Vladimir Nabokov, translated by Dmitri Nabokov Currently reading: Chasing the Flame by Samantha Power I Love: FREEDOM, Politics, The Food Network, Cosi, Cake (hell, who doesn't?),mis amigos , What Not To Wear, traveling, languages, text messages,Vanilla, Whole Foods & Traders Joes, my Ipod & Mac, Cheese Doodles and Yoohoos (don't ask), Scallion and Cheddar Scones, making a difference, climbing trees, paintballing, anything dealing with the UN (Yes,I am aware it is weak, crappy, and flawed, but it's the principle it stands for:universal peace, that I love) I really don't like: War(!!),business people, crummy politicians, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, evil dictators who trample on civil liberties (cough,Bush, cough), Finals, litterers, The City in the summer(Deodorant, people), being unemployed, cracks on the sidewalk, suburbs (they're scary! No one walks on the street!) So,I figured this would be a nice place to let my imagination run free without having a professor mark my papers in bright, horrid, and traumatizing red ink. I'm having tons of fun doing it! But,I fear that once I start on it,I won't finish How to Save the World because that's how my head works. Also, expect many updates from me as I have got nothing to do this summer except sit around in the sun and let my imagination run wild before I head off to study abroad in Egypt this fall (insert girly squeal). Come to think of it, I'll have even more stories to write while I'm in Cairo :) August 10,2009. Apologies for the lack of updating, but things are getting hectic. I have to get my essay for China written in two weeks, pack, shop, and see all my friends before everyone heads off to different parts of the effing world! Insane! But, I've attempted at writing the next chapter for The Secret Life f a College Student and I'm a bit stuck... On the other hand, I've got a bunch of ideas for How to Save the World. I'm going to try and get the next chapter up for How to Save the World before I leaveHah,as you can see,I'm a bit of a procrastinator (Isn't everyone?) Salem (Arabic for goodbye and hello!) Stories: 1. How to Save the World Genre: Action/Adventure/Romance I was inspired by many things (Watchmen being one of them) and I like to think that we don't just have old, senile, white men running our government. So,I decided to write a story where the main protagonist is a young woman, who plays the role of Ambassador to the UN (I'm not going to give her a specific country like how real ambassadors work; Let's just call her the General Ambassador for the U.S.). As all young people like to do, she hangs out with her friends, goes out to the occasional club or bar, hits Barneys when she has time-You know, when she isn't playing the role of hostess to a number of world leaders, discussing terrorists, the world economy, war, new refugees, and so forth. Also, she is a bit of an elitist (being elitist is too much fun to pass up),but don't hate her! The story takes place after her escape from Sudan, where she'd been working with other ambassadors from the nearby region as well as the main players in the UN (Russia,China,Great Britain, France) to settle the Darfur Crisis, when the Sudanese government shot the ambassadors in cold blood at a conference in the Sudanese President's mansion. When she comes back home, she faces new challenges, including being on the Sudanese government's Most Wanted Dead list and confronting the love of her life, whom she'd left behind to start her career as a diplomat. How to Save the World is the story about figuring out what it is you want, how much you want it, and what you're willing to give up for it-a story,I think,we can all relate to. 2. The Secret Life of a College Student Genre: Supernatural/Adventure/Action/Romance Supernatural!I think that show may have also inspired this story, as well as that new G-Force movie (None of my friends will go with me because it looks "so stupid"). Alrighty,so this story is going to deal with a college student (a girl) who leads a double life. She's a college student during the day and sometimes night, and a secret government agent in the Department of Unexplainable Events(supernatural, for you and I), 24/7. She's got the talking Fast and the Furious cars, complete with state of the art technology,a guinea pig as her conscious, and a Director who is as much of a bastard as he is sexy. Obviously, none of her friends know about her second life, but she's forced to reveal it on a disturbing (to say the least) trip to a haunted house on Halloween night. After that, her secret life collides with her college life and everything goes up in flames (quite literally). In between that, she has to figure out how to escape the wrath of a nasty demon that wants her dead or whatever it is that demons want and whether to drive a stake through her Director or drag him into her bed so she can have her way with him (if he'd allow it,of course). I'll add more to the description after I get a few chapter down.As now, this is all I have planned for the story, but as we all know, nothing every goes according to plan! | |||||||
