I guess my name would be a good place to start - I'm Khrysten. Yes, an unusual way to spell a relatively common name, but, as my mom constantly says, that's what makes it so unique. I'm seventeen and, as of Saturday, June 9th, a high school graduate! YAY! I live in the U.S. but an exact location isn't needed to be known. As to my personality, I'm pretty open with my friends, a little reserved with my parents, and just a tad (only a tad, I tell you!) out-of-control with my sister. I'm not short, per se, but that doesn't stop me from feeling so around all of my 6 foot and taller friends. Grr!

Music is my oxygen - I can't survive without it. It provides me with the medicine I need to feel good, to remain sane in an insane world. I'll listen to anything as long as the beat is good, the lyrics are meaningful, and the vocalists have some degree of talent. Language is not a factor. Some of my absolute favorite bands/artists include: Evanescence, My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Nickelback, Within Temptation, The Beatles, Chris Brown, Paramore, JoJo, Celine Dion, Seether, Gackt, Ayabie, Big Bang, Super Junior K.R.Y, BoA, Utada Hikaru, HYDE, L'Arc-en-Ciel, 12012, An Cafe, SID, the GazettE, Christina Aguilera, The Vincent Black Shadow, the Fray, Aly & Aj, Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Sean Paul, Maroon 5, Natasha Bedingfield, Panic! At the Disco, Aerosmith, the list continues. Seriously, people are always constantly surprised at how diverse my playlists are!
My social life is next to nonexistent, being confined to the house to constantly babysit my little terrors for siblings. Sadly, I don't play any instruments (though conquering the guitar has been a goal of mine for ages) and I don't officially play any sports on a team, though I have a thing for watching soccer, hockey, and basketball.
All my time is spent writing stories/poems or reading books I've been meaning to read for ages. My favorite authors include: Jodi Picoult, Chris Wooding, Edgar Allan Poe, J.R. Ward, Chris Crutcher, again, the list continues. My favorite books include: The Harry Potter Series, The Twilight Series, Nineteen Minutes, the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series, Dreamland, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Brave New World, Black Mirror, The Haunting of Alaizabel Gray, Chinese Handcuffs, The Book Thief, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Stranger Inside, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime...
Movies are a fetish of mine, whether they're the old black-and-whites of decades ago or the present day thrillers and such. My favorite movies include: Twelve Angry Men, Schindler's List, E.T., AI: Artificial Intelligence, Titanic, Enemy of the State, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Spirited Away, Moon Child, 8 Mile, Emperor's New Groove, Tokyo Godfathers, Nobody Knows, House of Flying Daggers, Hero, Erin Brockovich, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman: The Dark Knight (Heath Ledger as the Joker was PERFECT!) High School Musical (the first one, only) Madea Goes to Jail (okay, it's technically not a movie, but at the rate Tyler Perry is going it's only a matter of time)... Johnny Depp is the epitome of my idea of what being one of the best actors (or actresses, I suppose) means. After all, it is Johnny Depp. Enough said.
As for television, lately with all the chaos of senior year, it hasn't been much of a priority. Still, my favorite shows are: How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, One Tree Hill, General Hospital, One Life to Live, Project Runway, Criss Angel: Mindfreak, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Miami, Law and Order: SVU and CI, NCIS, As Time Goes By, Criminal Minds, Keeping Up Appearances, cartoons (depending on frame of mind, gotta stay a kid!)...
I have far too much time on my hands, to say the least. I guess that's why being exceedingly random is a quality of mine.
As for other nonconsequential items...
I love chocolate, anything Japanese (food, anime, music, movies, the people, the lifestyle, the language itself), anime/manga, Johnny Depp, my friends and family, getting lost in Manhattan with my friends during a day out (man, the adventures we've had. lol), the aquatic world and its creatures, food in general, the colors black, green, and silver, pranking, the list (once more, lol.) can and does go on... but I can't remember what else there is right now.
I dislike racists/bigots, hypocrites, overly arrogant people, breaking promises, getting the common cold because of its annoying little symptoms, people who learn a new language but use the wrong pronounciation, kiss-ups, those who make split-second judgments without getting to know the person they're judging, whenever trying to load a video on the internet takes FOREVER, excessive immaturity - guess that's why the kids at school annoy me so much, go figure.
Life's Next Major Hurdle?: My first semester of college! YIKES!
What I'm Missing the Most Right Now?: My best friends and family in another state (I can't believe I actually moved away from them for school!), the '90s and all its goodness, actually having enough time to sleep.
My Current Obsession in Terms of Music?: The Korean Hip-Hop/R&B/Pop/Rock/Dance musical group that is...really, they've, guaranteed had at least one song in each of these genres, so it's hard to fit them into only one category...BIG BANG!
Countries I'd Love to Visit More Than Anything?: Japan and Australia
