Author has written 5 stories for Sci-Fi, General, Romance, and Fantasy. My name is Paul Dinneen Chancey, but my friends call me "Big D" or "Dee". I am from the Chicago area (more specifically the northern suburbs) and I was born in the city and lived the first six months of my life there. But my hometown is Northfield, the town that I lived in for most of my life. My stories seem to have socio-political overtones to them. Here's my MySpace page. I also write on FanFiction.net. I'd like to dedicate this section to familiarize readers with the characters of my stories. Why? I just want to. L.A. Knight Brian Dinneen--An extremely stressed college student at the University of Southern California. He is very big in to mythology, particularly Irish and Greek mythology. He is so stressed that he appears to be in bad health. His life is turned upside down when he finds out he is the reincarnation of two legendary Irish heroes. Dave Horiuchi--Brian's best friend, having known Brian since they were five. He practices kendo, and his dad is teaching him to be a Shinto priest. He loves Japanese mythology. Linda Bowen--A girl who is a friend of Brian. She loves Arthurian legend. Although she interacts with him like she is good friends with him, she has only known him since the fall. Brian seems to have a slight crush on her. Prof. James Wessen--The very enthusiastic professor of mythology at USC. Nick Portokalos--A guy Brian literally bumps into outside of the USC libraries. His favorite book is The Iliad, and his favorite character is Achilles. Ralph Farley--Nick's chubby bumbling friend who reminds Brian of Chris Farley. Marnie Hampton--A stereotypical valley girl who has a crush on Brian, much to his dismay. Unnamed beautiful girl--A girl that dropped her purse, which Brian returned. She possesses inhuman beauty, and professes her love for Brian to his immense shock. Old woman--A woman that Brian helped cross the street, and then defended from a mugger. The Morrígan--Irish goddess of war, death, and fertility. She tells Brian of his destiny to save the world, and assists him in doing so. Mike Williams and the Valentines Mike Williams--The flat cap wearing, tough-guy bad boy guitar player for The Valentines. He is the son of a former Daytona 500 winner, and even won the Great American Race himself. When he was trying out for The Valentines, he did not know that he was trying out for them. Despite his authentic tough-guy attitude, he's a bit of a softie underneath, which his father jokes about a lot. Due to a bet, he tries to turn The Valentines into tough-as-nails rocker chicks. Misty Palmer--The lead singer and co-founder of The Valentines. She is hopelessly romantic, much to Mike's annoyance. She is obsessed with the Twilight series, and compares Mike (unfavorably) to Edward Cullen, which drives him nuts. The Kaplan War Sean O' Callahan--A 3/4 Elf from Chicago. After the Kaplan Empire attacks the United Earth Military Alliance Lunar Base, he joins the United States Space Force as a fighter pilot. By the 4th chapter, he is already an ace. Seamus "Shea" O' Callahan--Sean's twin brother. He joins the US army and becomes a mobile suit pilot. He pilots a Dragoon, the ultimate in Terran battle technology. Jack Macleod--The Scotland-born supreme commander of the United Earth Military Alliance (UEMA). He is a minor character. John Wilson--The President of the United States in 2439. He is a full-blooded Cherokee. Minor character. Balinor Leah--A Kaplan Basilisk pilot. He participated in the invasion of Earth. He may become Shea's rival. Bail Starkiller--A Kaplan ace starfighter pilot. His skills are on par with Sean. They may become rivals. John Atreides--The dictator of the Kaplan Empire. He is so volatile that even his bravest generals fear him. Minor character. Joseph Darbowski--A friend of Sean and Shea's from their childhood. Sean and Shea's dad--A businessman who was on the moon at the time of the Kaplan attack. Minor Character. Meave O' Callahan--Sean and Shea's little sister. Minor Character. Sean and Shea's mom--Minor character. Sons of Liberty Jack O' Brien--A citizen of the Holy Nation of America. After finding a book with the text of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, he vows to overthrow the tyrannical theocracy running the country. Matt Jacobs--One of Jack's friends. He is Jewish, which is illegal in the Holy Nation. Cathleen O' Reilly--One of Jack's friends. She is his love interest. She is a Wiccan, which carries the death penalty in the Holy Nation. Jimmy & Taylor Jimmy Michaels--The freshman quarterback for the University of Central Florida Knights. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He follows the Man Laws. He cannot stand his roommate's flamboyance. Taylor Robinson--Jimmy's roommate. He is a clone of Chris Crocker. His appearance, personality and habits are identical to that of Crocker's. Demetrous Williams--Jimmy's favorite wide reciever. He is supremely talented. Jim Oakley--A wide receiver, an Illinoisan, like Jimmy. Josh Hanson--the starting running back for UCF. Charles Jones--The UCF center. George O' Leary--The head coach at UCF. The Scientologist and the Pagan Laura Jackson--A Scientologist, born and raised. She has an OT level that is unusually is high for her age. She met Sean O' Rourke after (literally) running into him. She is currently dating him and is beginning to show signs that she is in love with him. She is, unkowingly even to herself, questioning her beliefs as a Scientologist. Sean O' Rourke--Laura's love interest. He is a Neopagan. More specifically, a Celtic Reconstructionist. After insulting the Church of Scientology, he suddenly finds himself marked for fair game by the Church. His main ambition is to become an anthropologist. Kevin Gordon--Sean's best friend from childhood. He stuck by his friend when Sean went through some hard times after admitting he was a pagan during high school. He was the quarterback of the Hollywood High football team. Mark Jackson--Laura's father. Megan Jackson--Laura's sister. She teases Laura by flirting with Sean. Sarah Jackson--Laura's mother. She and Sean's mom knew each other when they were young. Matt O' Rourke--Sean's father. He is a Methodist. A centerist in terms of politics, he is partially conservative in term of religion. He was not happy when Sean turned Pagan, but he has a good relationship with his son--as long as religion isn't brought up. Joann O' Rourke--Sean's mother. She knows Laura's mother from college. She accepts her son's religious beliefs. Colin O' Rourke--Sean's brother. Minor character. | |||||||||
