Hello, everybody!

My name is Shannon, and I'm a fifteen year old girl who was born on the 23rd of February and was raised and currently resides in Scotland. I'm pretty short for my age: I'm only 5". I have blue eyes, brown hair that used to go down to my waist but now has layers, the longest of which reach the middle of my back, and long nails; I refuse to bite them or cut them... I simply file them down if they get too long.

My main three hobbies are writing/reading (fan)fictional stories (yes, I count this as only one hobby as they're so closely related), drawing (I'm good at sketching something that's sitting in front of me, but I simply love the manga style of art) and webdesign - I currently have four main websites; a cartoon doll/graphic/myspace graphics/tutorials/etc website, a site where I display all my writings, a Harry Potter FanFiction website and a forum to go along with the FanFiction website.

In my spare time, I also like to hang out with my friends - my closest being: for the girls; Roslyne and Joanne, and for the boys; Lewis and Arron. It doesn't really matter where we go... the park, the cinema, shopping... although I definitely prefer the latter two when it's the middle of winter and is pouring down with rain!

On to my favourite things. My all-time favourite food is brocolli. Don't ask; I simply have an unnatural obsession with it... it tastes so good! My favourite drink is either Coke (full-fat; I don't like the diet stuff anymore) or smoothies - in fact, I love smoothies so much that my parents bought a blender so we could stop wasting money buying smoothies, and make them ourselves! My favourite books are the Harry Potter series, the Twilight series, and pretty much any books by Jaqueline Wilson or Danielle Steel. My favourite T.V. shows are Doctor Who, Torchwood, Gilmore Girls, Hollyoaks, Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural, Primeval and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As for the films, I love the Harry Potter ones (of course!), Titanic, High School Musical, Armageddon, any horror film that's actually scary (the last decent one I saw was The Hostel), and any decent chick-flick.

I think, for now, I'll end with a quick overview of my writing history. I wrote my first story when I was nine years old, and it was about a war... it was around 1,500 words, I think, and extremely rushed. It lacked any proper flow or plot, but it was fun to write. I moved on, then, to a story about twins that I really can't remember much about. After that, I started several stories but never got around to finishing them. I even made a friend, Brittany, and we would have writing competitions - again, I don't remember much about any of the stories either of us wrote then. It was back in 2006, I think, when Billie Piper left Doctor Who that I truly got back into writing; I was devastated that my favourite character had left and so, somehow, I managed to stumble across Whofic.com. I spent a long, happy year writing Doctor Who fanfiction on there, and gradually my skills began to improve. Unfortunately for me, my interest ran out fast with every story I wrote, and unless it was a one-shot I never completed them. Eventually I needed a break from all that, and I left the writing world for awhile - only occasionally opening up MS Word to start a new original story which, again, I never completed. Then... well, then the final Harry Potter book came out. Oh, how depressed I was! I bought the book at midnight, and was sitting crying at three o'clock the next day. Remembering how therapeutic Doctor Who fanfiction had been, I sought out a similar website for Harry Potter and found two; Harrypotterfanfiction.com and Fanfiction.net. Since then, I've mainly been obsessed with reading Harry Potter fanfiction, but I've written a couple of my own stories - "HP Year 4: Voldemort Returns" which is almost exactly the same length as the third Harry Potter book and focuses on a family relationship between Harry, Sirius and Remus; and "HP Year 5: Let the War Begin" which is still a W.I.P.

There we go! I'll come back and add more information at a later date, if anyone wishes to know more about me. I have a few ideas for original stories that I may start, so we'll see how that goes and maybe I'll start posting here... for now, I'm happy to read.
