WE ACTUALLY ARE THREE PEOPLE :O
booksforme +readingagain+popmusik = SPIDEYMINT
AND we're all from the same family. Touching, isn't it?
ABOUT US:
booksforme :
I've loved books for as long as I can remember and try to read everything I can get my hands on. This includes "classic" literature as well as children's books (I have a special place in my heart for Spot Counts from One to Ten).
I spent the first 21+ years of my life in Phoenix, AZ until I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Applied Mathematics. At that point I headed to Cornell University where I got my Masters degree in Operations Research (don't worry, no one knows what it is). Now I live in the great Northeast with my college professor husband (sorry, same subject matter here - probability, statistics, computer simulation), our four children, three cats, and two dogs. Yes, I've heard all the jokes about how mathematicians like to multiply. Every few years we head back to Phoenix to visit our family who still lives there.
I've become quite the lover of fanfiction because it addresses my desire to hear more about my favorite characters. My love of Jane Austen is well known among those I meet (not the least of which because I named my two daughters after Austen characters). Twilight has special meaning for me as I was always the pale kid in AZ (my mother once told me I would blind the neighborhood if I walked out in shorts in the middle of the day). Of course, I now know that I am particularly drawn to romance stories so whether in literature or fanfiction you will find me heading towards the love story.
readingagain :
I am Emma, sometimes known as Fanta, a writing and reading fanatic (as is everyone else on here).
About me as an author: I'm one of the two authors of the Twilight Fanfic 'Real Relationship : A Geeky Love Story'. I write story parts on my own, but I find I can only really get work done when my mom is working with me, which is good, because it's fun being her partner.
About me as a reader: I'm a complete sucker for action/fantasy/romance. I'm the type of person you will see starting Spiderman fan clubs (yes, at the moment of writing this I am sucking a Spiderman mint) and the Matrix and such. Humor is also very good, although I can take angst if done well. I tend to be very obsessive with the stories I read, particularly with the characters I latch on to -- and the type of characters I like are usually the ones with a darker side to them, but still being undeniably good guys. To illustrate the point of this obsessiveness : I make custom backgrounds for my computer of the favorite characters I have, and hang up pictures I print out of them on the wall (when pictures are available).
About me: Well, there's a reason I'm one of the authors to Geeks in Love, as we call it; it follows quite a bit of the patterns of my life, more than you might guess. Aside from that, I compose music and draw, and am generally pretty happy-go-lucky (or at least, that's the type of life fate has thrown at me). I love wind and rain, as long as they're warm, and humor, particularly of the sarcastic type (as long as it's not directed at me!) My mom's taste has affected my own taste for culture perhaps more than it should have, so I tend to watch a lot of her types of movies, not more recent ones, unless they're action/adventure, and so forth with the music.
popmusik :
I'll add stuff about me later.
spideymint :
We're all co-conspirators, writing together to create the fantasy/action/humor/romance story "Grim".
