I am one of three siblings, and the one of the defining characteristics of my life is that I walk and bike almost everywhere. My parents and family are into the concept of living green, so in addition to that, we eat a lot of organic food. Can't be bad for you.
I like to read historical fiction and sci-fi. I revere, love and adore Isaac Asimov. I also like to read straight up history, being a bit of a freak.
Reviewing: I will happily trade reviews with anyone, but reviews should be serious. An author can tell whether you have intelligent thoughts and comments for their piece or whether you are simply review-mongering. If you have only negative things to say about my pieces, please tell me. Constructive criticism is more helpful to me as a writer than "Oh, I loved it, but so-and-so should hook up with that other guy, don't you think:)" Nevertheless, positive reviews make a person feel good, so by no means refrain from saying something if you like it.
I am currently awestruck by the power of email. I got an account fairly recently (being able to sign on to Fiction Press was a reason), and am amazed at being able to constantly communicate with my friends. I am also enamored of the prospect of being able to hear from my Spanish Pen-Pal constantly. To be able to communicate with someone halfway across the globe regularly is a miracle. The future is here!
Other favorite authors:
Markus Zusak - The Book Thief
Shannon Hale - The Goose Girl, The Princess Academy, Book of a Thousand Days
Maureen Stack-Sappey - She has only written one book, but I love it: Letters From Vinnie
J R R Tolkien (obviously) - One of my current literary conquests is the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The writing is just fabulous.
among others. Those are only the ones I currently have on my bookshelf.
