Author has written 11 stories for Humor, and Horror. My pen name is my real name. I am Jayne d'Arcy. My blog, which has been my place to publish my stories, is currently called 'A Light in the Dark'. I have been writing since I was in grade school. Before that, I was just telling stories the old-fashioned way. My preferred style of writing is short story, or what is fashionably called 'flash fiction'. My genre tends toward horror fiction or gothic fiction. I don't know if gothic fiction has a different definition now, but when I was in school it was lighter on the horror factor and more along the lines of suspense/thriller. I also have another style of story that almost defies categorizing. I call it 'Really Odd Bits'. Suffice it to say for now that if you plagiarized one of my 'Really Odd Bits' stories for a writing class, you'd get a failing grade. That isn't to say they're bad, but it requires suspension of quite a few hard and fast rules in regards to writing a story. Not everyone likes them and I can live with that. Friends have long been encouraging me to publish my stories and sell them. I dealt with publishers before the 'net and it was an unpleasant experience. Self-publishing is a thought, but what I really want is people to read my stories and to give me feedback. That's much more important than any money I might make from my writing.
