Here's the thing:
I am a writer. End of story. That's all there is to it.
If you're going to say something about my writing, say something worth reading. I'm not interested in flattery. I'm not going to stroke your ego if you stroke mine. I want to know if my writing is any good from someone who isn't bound by the lame rules of friendship and family to tell me that it's good. If you really do enjoy it, I'll be more than happy to hear it. I just don't want someone telling me I'm great if I actually suck. So be brutal. But be real. If you think it's awful, tell me why. If you don't, then I'll just have to assume that you're jealous, or stupid. And I really would rather not do that, because then I feel cocky, or judgmental. So tell me what you think. Don't be a pansy. Be honest.
I'm not going to promise that I'll comment on your work. And, if I do, you can guarantee that you'll get an earful from me if you spell 'you' with only the letter 'u', or if you use the wrong form of 'their/there/they're'. Junior high internet lingo has no place in literature. If you don't take the time to make sure you're accurate, you don't deserve to be literate.
I'm a grammar snob. I would apologize, but I shouldn't have to, so I'm not going to. Because you should know how to spell and insert the correct word where it's needed.
And, now that half of you think I'm a total jerk, I'm going to wrap this up.
Read my work, if you feel so driven. Let me know what you think, if you're so overcome by hate or, less likely, adoration.
I'm not going to change my writing just to make you happy, but I will work to improve myself as a writer.
