"Surely the apple is the noblest of fruits."
-Henry David Thoreau, Wild Apples

For the apple represents both sweetness and sin. Yet, sometimes, the sweeter the apple, the deeper the sin.
So while the outside of the apple may be bruised, and the skin broken in places, beneath this could still be the whitest flesh, the stickiest of juices.
And the apple that is flawless, that bears no marks on its smooth skin, could be hiding the deepest bruise of all, traced upon rotten, inedible insides.
It is this one must remember. The most gnarled apple could be the most handsome; the handsome fruit truly the more gnarled.
It is not wise to be fooled by appearances alone.
For even the most golden of apples hide the deadliest of seeds.
