I'm "rodgrod med flode", but you can call me Marina. If you want to hear how to pronounce my pen name, click here.

Just to clarify, I am not Danish, but I've started learning. It's pretty difficult just based on the pronunciation and the lack of materials, but I'm enjoying it. It's not known for being the world's prettiest language, but I think it sounds cute. Maybe I'm just being weird, but I actually like it a lot more than stereotypical "pretty" languages like French and Italian. They're just not very pleasing to me.

Anyway, on to writing:

I'm a procrastinator, meaning that the writings I post here will be few and far between. On rare occassions, I'll manage to crank out two or three good poems at a time. That doesn't happen too often. I also enjoy writing stories, though I wind up dropping and never coming back to most of them. So don't get too hooked on anything I write (like that'll ever happen), because it's likely that I'll never wind up finishing whatever it is.

Most of my writing is fantasy. It's been my favorite genre ever since I was a kid, and there's really no escaping my love for it. I've tried branching out to write other things, but I just don't enjoy them like I do fantasy. With my fantasy, I try to stray away from the typical sword-and-sorcery/dragons/vampires/pseudo-medieval-setting stereotypes. I still worldbuild and invent languages, but I like to make my worlds a bit more relevant to today's world and let the 'fantasy' elements lay low. Basically, it reads like realism. Any 'fantasy' elements are normal in my world and are very subtle things. Most of the time. Sometimes I just get a craving to write something cheesy and supernatural. Not often.

Feel free to critique any of my work, and don't hesitate to be harsh. That's how I'll improve.

I know that I can sometimes be a harsh critic (and will admit that I step over the line on a few occassions), and if I've done that to your work, feel free to return the favor by ripping apart something of mine.
