Author has written 9 stories for Romance. Howdy! I'm Insomnias Worst Nightmare. I'm 18 years old and I live to write, and read. Its all I really do. I'm pretty much a nerd. Things are really starting to pile up for me now. I have university and other responsibilities, so updates won't be as frequent as your used to. Don't worry, I will update, it just might take a little longer. When I have free days I'll try and write as much as possible, but you all just need to be patient. I've recently found a fantastic site for writers and poets. It's called Dream Poets and it's on livejournal: http://community.livejournal.com/dreampoets/ I'm a member of the site and I go under: Jam_Everyday. If you enjoyed writing (which I expect most of you do!) then go ahead and join the community! Here's a few things about me: Favorite Books: The Twilight Series, HP, Gemma Doyle trilogy, Kate Brians 'Private Series', Jodi Picoult's books (esp My sister's Keeper, such a sad, and wonderful book), Wicked, The Luxe, Holly Black's books, Atonement, Jean Plaidy's historical novels, 'Girl, Interrupted' by Susanna Kaysen, 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath and anything Jane Austen. As you can tell from my stories I am slightly obsessed with Jane Austen (She's mentioned a whole lot!) She is just the most amazing writer ever. Period. Favorite TV shows: Lost, House, Supernatural (Dean! Sam! Castiel!), The Tudors, Mock the Week, Southpark, The Mentalist, Bones... and many more! Favorite Movies: Anything with Audrey Hepburn, she really is the best actress ever, especially Roman Holiday, and Funny Face! Amazing. Four Brothers, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Saved!, POTC, Blazing Saddles, Psycho, Girl, Interrupted and many more that I can't think of right now. I write a lot of stories, but most of them probably won't see the light of day because their rubbish. I don't have a particular genre I favor, but I tend to write stories in the 1st person of young women, because I'm a young woman! I have a file on my laptop filled with ideas for stories that will probably never see the light of day, but when an idea hits I just have to get it down on paper otherwise it'll drive me mad. When it comes to updating I'm pretty good doing it regularly. Writers block is sometimes a problem, but I just soldier on! Anyhoo, thats all I really have to say! "What do you first do when you learn how to swim? You make mistakes, do you not? And what happens? You make other mistakes, and when you have made all the mistakes you possibly can without drowning-and some of them many times over- what do you find? That you can swim? Well- life is just the same as learning to swim! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live!" Alfred Adler Falling Over You Falling Over You was the first story I wrote, and actually decided to put up here. It's my baby! I'll freely admit that it's not the best written thing out there, and the grammar (in the beginning chapters at least) isn't the best, but I enjoy writing it, and will go back and edit. Abi's dress for her first date with Zane: http://www.fashionchateau.com/ProductImages/Main/JUI0109DE_M.jpg I've changed chapters 1 and 3 a little in 'Falling Over You'. Its nothing too major, just a little addition to the description of Zane in chapter one, and a little addition to the end of chapter 3. I've decided that Abi looks like Zooey Deschanel: http://ak.imgfarm.com/images/gossip/celebrities/012604Zooey.jpg She's pretty, but in a kooky way! I think she's perfect! The dress Abi buys in Chapter 10: The Shoes Abi buys in Chapter 10: The Dress Abi buys for the premiere: http://zooey-deschanel.us/gallery/displayimage.php?album=131&pos=17 Delicious Ambiguity Summary: Shadows of memories not my own danced along the edges of my conscious mind. Memories of a love for him so strong that it survived past death, and lived on in me now. My past life was seeping into this life. It wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t a Vampire. And if I didn’t hate him. To love and hate one person in equal measure is such a strange feeling. To feel the need to protect, and run from that person. It tore me a part inside. My heart wanted to run to him, while my head wanted to run and/or drive a stake through his chest, and destroy him once and for all. Destroy this hold he had over me. He loved me because of who I used to be, not for who I was now. And I loved him, not out of choice, but out of a bind created in a past life that should not live on. Its about a girl, Leigh, who has lost her twin sister, and she's grieving pretty hard. Updates will take a little longer than they did for 'Falling Over You' because of the fact that the story is much more emotional, and the character a lot more complex with her emotions. And the fact that she doesn't talk much, its all what she's thinking, and she thinks differently to other people because of what she's lost. Anyway, I hope you all like this new story, and enjoy reading it. I wasn't planning on my new story being this serious, I was actually going to write a rip off of '10 Things I hate about You', but then it kind of mutated into something a lot more interesting I think, and original. Its probably influenced a lot by books by authors like Sylvia Plath, Susanna Kaysen, and Janice Galloway. They're all books about young women going through hard times, and they've inspired me to write this story. But it is a romance, I don't want you all to think its going to be some depressing story with no happy ending. Leigh: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/graphics/2008/04/06/st_clemence.jpg Christopher: http://z.about.com/d/movies/1/0/4/G/8/shesthemanpubm.jpg The V-Gene Ok, so I've started another story now. It's a vampire story, but it's not magical, or really even supernatural at all. Vampirism comes from a gene- The V-Gene- and one can be a carrier or a sufferer... Coralie: http://www.wallpaperez.net/wallpaper/celebrities/Megan-Fox-theme-765.jpg Ideas for upcoming stories I might never get around to writing these stories, but if you guys want me to, I'll try my best! 1) The first is like a dark, twisted fairytale! A girl falls through a mirror from our world and into a world where fairytales are as real as you or me. Except they're not the happy disney fairytales, but the dark Brothers Grimm ones. Our world is the fairytale in their world, while our fairytales are their history. 2) The second is a sort of mix of Girl, Interrupted, and Heroes... Odd, I know! It's about this girl who sees the future, but her parents think she's crazy. They send her to a psychiatric hospital, but she finds that it's not actually a psychiatric hospital, it's a place where people with 'gifts' are kept, controlled, experimented on, and trained. She's a PreCog; rare, powerful, and in high demand. There are Readers (read minds), Receivers and Transmitters (Work in pairs, Receivers get messages from their Transmitters), Binder (Have the ability to bind the gifts of others), Locators (Can locate people. Duh.)... That's all I have so far. The world at large don't know anything about these people, but a 'corporation' is collecting them in order to use them for their own means. 3) A Zombie story. I love Zombie films so much and I've always wanted to write a Zombie story. I'm thinking of starting it out at a bank robbery. A group of people are trapped in a bank vault with a group of bank robbers and at first the police are trying to negotiate but then everything goes silent on that front. They wait for a few hours and then venture out of the vault only to find lots of blood, lots of dead people and Zombies! What do you think? And, of course, sequels to Falling Over You, and Delicious Ambiguity that I've said I'd do! | |||||
