Author has written 6 stories for Fantasy, and General. I'm a veterinary student now, but once upon a time in early college and high school, I studied everything from classical painting to creative writing to Latin to classical humanities, and I retain a deep fondness for fiction in all it's forms. Lately I have been thinking of rearranging my career path and using my science coursework toward a career in biological illustration. Who knows where I will end up. Some of my favorite published authors (which should also give you an idea of the genre I write) include Gregory Maguire, Susanna Clarke, David Sedaris, Stephen King, Augusten Burroughs and Chuck Palahniuk. Among many, many others. Nihilism, cynicism, pessimism and bad language make me feel tingly all over. If you take the time to read and review a story of mine, chances are I will come over to do the same for you. I like to leave thoughtful comments and more than just "Cool!", so my reviews are few in quantity but high in quality. I am also willing to beta-read. I'll probably be more likely to say yes if you introduce yourself, chat with me, and take a look at my own writing. I'm a very thorough beta-reader, so be prepared to receive some strict critique. I have no tolerance for sloppy writing and spelling, angsty, self-indulgent fiction, or fiction with stolen plots. I am desperately allergic to the vast majority of love stories, stories written in the first person by someone who is not Chuck Palahniuk, David Sedaris or Augusten Burroughs, and stories written by angsty teenagers. However, it makes me warm and fuzzy all over to discover a unique writer with creative stories and intelligent writing style. On that note, I don't currently have a beta reader of my own, so please forgive any grammatical errors in my stories. It's much easier to spot others' mistakes than your own. Story Synopsis (as of 8/02/08) Beldam: (horror, fantasy, magic, supernatural, witchcraft)A young woman visits a witch seeking the aid of black magic, just before the day of her arranged marriage. She soon becomes possessed by her guilt and debt to the witch, but returning to the hag to undo what she did is not nearly so easy. Featuring demonic possession, madness and creepy crawly things. Not a romance, and not a fairy tale. #I am actively writing new chapters for this story, and feedback helps me get them up faster!# The Magician's Apprentice:(Magic, politics, intrigue, mystery, adventure fantasy) Elliot Harper has the unlikely position as carriage driver to the kingdom's most powerful - and reclusive - magician. #Working on more chapters for this - slowly# Diary of a Demonkeeper: (fantasy, modern day, demons, supernatural, humor) Sam doesn't think much of the occasional imp or pixie he sees out of the corner of his eye. However, one day as he rides the daily train to work, he meets a strange Scottish man who drags a demon on a leash, and won't leave Sam alone. #No more chapters for this one until I get over my writer's block for this story. Reviews help!# Magic Thirteen: (magic, children, modern day, unicorns, one-shot) The Elliot household is normal in every way, until one day for her thirteenth birthday, Elisa Elliot receives a most mysterious gift. A real, live unicorn on her front step. #Written as a one-shot, but I might turn it into a longer story# Mourning Fish: (Philosophical, introspective, character-development) Chelsea has seen better days when rent money runs short and good friends are hard to come by. Nothing improves when her favorite goldfish is found dead in his bowl one morning. #More on this character at my DA page# Quick Disclaimer#1: My stories might or might not have homosexual themes(gay AND lesbian). I don't write romance, but if gay characters bother you just be aware. Quick Disclaimer #2: Like any writer, I gobble up reviews! If you liked it, or especially if you disliked it, let me know! I really enjoy knowing what people think, and how I can improve my writing. A single review can encourage me to write a new chapter to your favorite story. nome.tea@gmail.com email me! | |||||||||||
