ABOUT ME...

You may have heard of me; I am an animated advert for cards and print by day (just YouTube 'Moonpig', ladies) and by night I am the world's greatest detective and superhero. I write stories for a hobby, really, and will read most types of genre...when I'm not out saving the world.

I am an adventurer at heart. Latest quests include:

-The discovery of El Dorado, City of Gold

-The foiling of an evil, morally disturbed scientist's plan to clone everyone into carbon copies of Paris Hilton (you can buy me a drink later)

-The saving of the planet from alien invasion, with only a toothbrush and a half-inflated balloon with which to halt the dastardly plot

-The recovery of a stranded group of aid workers trapped in Africa, after they had come under heavy fire from cannibalistic mercenaries

And now it's time for me to get back to my therapist, so we can further discuss the crippling case of delusion he recently diagnosed me with.

I'm not really this mental, to be honest. My name is Nathan Scatcherd. I'm an ordinary guy-I play the guitar, like to hang out with friends when I can and I like drawing, reading and writing pretty much anything. I'm a self-confessed movie nerd, too, and this occassionally comes across in my stories when I draw influences from film.

Also, I often set stories in the fictional 'Aston City'; I use this made-up location (as well as a few more) just because it's more interesting than setting up another story in New York or London when I need a city location. Think of it as my trademark, and, if you like, look upon my work as sort of interconnected: those set in Aston City can be viewed as one sort of 'volume', even though the stories are often stand-alone and nothing to do with each other in terms of plot. Hope this isn't confusing...

In any event, stay tuned, and keep reading!

WORK IN PROGRESS:

1. 'The Phantom'-In an alternate history, WWII is being raged between the Nazis and the AGL (Alliance for Global Liberty, a combined coalition of British, American, French and Italian forces). In this timeline, the Nazis have been horribly successful in their occultist experiments, making themselves an army of inhuman soldiers and combining science with black magic in an attempt to create the ultimate doomsday weapon. One American sergeant, Jack McGowan, is captured after a disastrous mission and experimented on by the Nazis as a test subject for their new super-soldier programme. However, they are in fact inadvertedly creating their own nemesis...The Phantom. This is just the bare bones of the plot, but it's an idea I've been working on for a good few weeks now. I'll be uploading it, chapter by chapter, to the site as it's written.

2. 'Morton'-The follow-up to my first story, 'Double Vision', that will conclude the 'Revenge in Aston City' double feature. It's been barely worked on so far, to be honest (I like to focus on one piece of work at a time) but I have something of a plot and a few of the characters already. It will be a dark, M-rated affair like its predecessor, and will be about the revenge plot of a would-be bank robber who was betrayed and left for dead by his co-criminals, after the bloody robbery of a bank full of Mob money. You can almost hear the bullets fly... Think the OTT-ness of 'Kill Bill' meets the style and aesthetic of 'Reservoir Dogs' (Hey, I'm a Tarantino fan) and you're on the right lines.

There are several other little ideas for further projects floating around in my skull, but I don't want to give away too much (although I can tell you that one of them will be a Western. I've always wanted to write a good Western)!
