Hi all, I am FirstBloom13 the lime green drama queen writing machine! I am VERY new to the writing world so keep that in mind when reviewing. I write songs and young adult/fantasy chapter and short stories. Thank you for taking the time to read and review my tragically under-developed pieces.
All lyrics and quotes included in the beginning of chapters are to enhance the writing, I am NOT claiming to have written them myself.
Short Stories:
More Alike than I Thought: Danielle Blair is pitted against her long-time rival in the fencing match deciding the competitiors for the regional championships. Written as an "adventure" short piece in class.
Better off Without: Ally's best and only friend ditches her to become popular, and she is forced to stand up for herself, something she has never had to do. Written as a "conflict" short piece in class.
Something in the Water: Gracie is shaken out of her lame white-trash existence when a short trip to the ravine turns bad. Written as a "horror" short piece in class.
All the Pretty Ponies: When Lucy's parents agree to her life's ambition of owning a horse, she is ecstatic. When her dream horse turns out to be less than, she is forced to ride her in the most important show of the year. (beware- it is bordering on novel) Written as a "humor" short piece in class.
Death in the Desert: A story written in class as a "persuasive" short piece. Inspired in part by the culling of brumbies in Australia, and in part by my own battles with authority figures making bad decisions.
Novels: (beware, I will sometimes have 4 or 5 going at a time so be prepared that I might not get back to the ones you like for a while, I am also still in schooling and am busy.)
The Athrophy Series: Part 1- Lighthearted: Was a fanfic but I adapted it to become original. If you look hard, you might be able to see the resemblences. The FBI has a secret school/prison in which they train/imprison teens with paranormal tendencies to protect the country from terrorists. (That wasn't in the fanfic, needless to say) DOES have vampires AND much chick lit, as well as a character death. The second part will have one fxf and a werewolf. I am editing all chapters as well as writing ch. 5.
Excerpt from ch. 5:
It was a room filled with shadows and shadows of shadows. The fire was unusually dim and the smoke clouded the vision of the onlooker.
Distant figures slumped behind bars. Some limply huddled against walls, some writhed like possessive demons, and others merely twitched.
In the center of the room, a woman’s body reclined on a gilded chair. Her Swedish blonde pixie cut elongated the shape of her head. Her face looked like it was beautiful once, but had been twisted into a leering mask.
She lifted her eyes into mine, and jerked sharply. They rolled up into her head, and she fell to the floor…
Lighthearted is my pride and joy, and it will be updated the most. As well, most critisism of the main plotline will be ignored since I have lots of it set in stone.
My other novel is called Defying Gravity, and it is about this girl who's parents have divorced, and her mother has moved to Alberta. She has been hanging out with some bad kids, and until she gets packed off to musical theatre camp, meets some real friends (and one that might become more than just a friend) and gets cast as Elphaba in the musical Wicked, does she realize she life does have some meaning. much less dark than it sounds _ Ch 1 halfway finished.
Still in the Works:
The Plum Trilogy: Part 1- Love, Life, and School Board Politics: Inspired by my life. Almost everything that happens to Plum has happened to me at some point in time.
An Unnamed Alice in Wonderland Modernized story that is horror/fantasy ( I still need to talk to admin to see if this is allowed or if it is copyright infringement)
Faerietale: It has been in the works since I was 8. I made up a story and me & the sibs would pretend to be the characters. I like it, but I know it is a pretty overworked genre.
Million-Dollar Scream: a reality show turns bad when it turns on the contestants.
