Hello all!

I am a college student majoring in Music Education, but I have had this story growing in my mind for the longest time and I felt that I needed to share it with the world. Well, the World Wide Web for now at least.

My inspiration, as one might have guessed already, is music. When I'm writing, I generally have a playlist going that helps aid the process. I can't seem to do anything without music, go figure. Most of the music that I listen to is instrumental, and some of the titles I don't know because they were given to me on burned discs, but they're still good nonetheless.

My most current playlist for The Curator is as follows (Feel free to check them out on youtube):
-City of Delusion: Muse
-Starlight: Muse
-Hysteria: Muse
-Time is Running Out: Muse
-Sing for Absolution: Muse
(Just about anything by Muse...they're gods ;D)
-Lacrymosa: Evanescence
-Broken: Seether ft. Amy Lee
-What I've Done: Linkin Park
-Across the Universe: The Beetles (Movie soundtrack version)
-Unforgiven: Metallica
-Storm: Lifehouse
-Remember When It Rained: Josh Groban
-Oceano: Josh Groban
-Little Fugue in G Minor: Bach
-Sleep: Eric Whitacre
-Water Night: Eric Whitacre
Well...there's just a lot of them. I'll leave the list at that. If you would like to know what other songs I recommend, just let me know.

Other things people might like to know about me...
I'm a little bit cynical, and I am strangely intrigued by the idea of 2012. The Mayans were up to something, I swear!
I tend to be a little obsessive compulsive about a lot of things, and my characters are a few of those things. They're like my children, let me tell you. It killed me to change their names the first time to fix some incongruities.
I have two dogs that I spoil inceassantly. I have a brother and three sisters that I like to brag about. They're all adorable, even though the bro is much taller than I am (and younger...pouts) and one of the sisters is a year older. But that's okay.
I have next to zero free time on my hands, and yet here I am...typing away for FictionPress. What does that say about me? ha...
I enjoy tea. Lots of tea. And the smell of strong coffee (hate the taste, though). I LOVE my college, but sometimes I want to burn down the practice rooms while laughing like a maniac. I drive a minivan with a key scratch from the neigbors on the backside. I'm a fake redhead. I listen to music you've probably never heard of. Knee 3 anyone? Ear Training is the bane of my existance. Music Theory puts me to sleep as fast as a math lesson. I really like the sound of first inversion chords. I like lime green. I enjoy 'Fruit Punch' Kool-Aid. I have an uncanny talent for fighting, but rarely have physical confrontations. I work for a chef when at school, and I offer people pizza combos at the movie concession stands when at home. Tragic.

Now, about the novel. The thing you're probably looking on here for.

The Curator is a novel in process, and it has been a project of mine for years. I have written and rewritten it time and time again, and I know that it will be completed for real this time. I am really excited about this most current draft, and I have commited to it, so I am going to share it with you all here on FictionPress. The title is a working title, so it may change at the time of publishing. Who knows, right? Isn't that what the editors are for? hehehe...It will probably be the only thing that I will publish here, but it will be novel length. I may end up posting little drables about the characters that don't really belong in the novel but that I wanted to write, etc...
It is set in the not so distant future, and involves the dire circumstances surrounding a prophecized couple- a couple reluctantly in love. This is the Prologue...for now...

Nobody knows exactly who started the War. Some say that it was the angry hunger that the United States had. Others say that Japan got too cocky. But nobody places blame anymore.

The War left little of the old splendor of the world intact. The Americas, Russia, England and France were all devastated. Some parts of Japan, Australia, Iceland, and the Poles survived the annihilation that ravaged the planet in those fateful sixteen weeks. The remaining populations settled in a settlement in the south of Africa and some places in the United States until America’s coveted space-station could be completed.

Some people say that the United States saw it coming. Others complain that they were prepared to save their own and nobody else. But now the world is allied under one rule- The Holy Empire under the direction of the Lord Emperor…the Chanel of God. His father mysteriously died and he took over with the promise of harnessing the powers of the Ignotus- a clan of people endowed with the gift of harboring the forces of space, time, nature, and energy. They had always been there, waiting and biding their time for the proper time to reveal themselves. To the world, they are a Godsend. To the Ignotus, this revelation of their presence has been their downfall. People suspect that the United States had discovered them earlier and used them in the War.

But either way- life is not what it used to be, and the people are scared. Scared of their governments. Scared of their environment. Scared of themselves. Their only solace is the hope that the Ignotus will be able to answer their prayers.

Now, the people wait. Some are waiting for the day when their lives will feel normal again. Some are waiting for the Emperor to snap. Others are waiting for something to happen- when a young couple will declare independence, and fall into an ancient prophecy long believed to be false. They wait for the Devoveo- the sacrifice for mankind.

So, that's the prologue. It's a little bit off from the version of the story that I am uploading onto this site, so some changes will be made. I just thought that it might be nice to post this so that there was a little something about the novel on the site.

Also, if anyone is interested in being a beta for me, I would be greatly appreciative! Just let me know in a review!

More updates should come soon. Check in later for more!

I will also be beta reading for KeywordParamore's 'Atra Domina'. I highly recommend that you check it out. I will begin beta-ing from the third chapter on.
