Author has written 4 stories for General, General, and Young Adult. So...My names sydnie I write a lot, but really, it's unlikely for me to finish anything I start xD So please, don't expect too much from me. I really try but what often happens is I lose interest in a story and become interested in a new idea and want to write THAT one...lol. I would really love to STOP that bad habit and really want to FINISH something!! So if anyone has any ideas on how to get me to keep interest in a story give me some tips! Otherwise...this account is really just for fun on my part. I'm not looking for any harsh critiques, I'd just like to share my stories and see what people think of them just for fun, like I said. That's all I have to say for now I suppose... Change Never Stops: Is a story focused around two very different people, 14 year old Claire, and 33 year old Aaden. When Claire's mother dies Aaden is given the chance to meet the daughter he never knew and possibly become her permanent guardian, if things work out. Unfortunately, Circumstances aren't so great. Things between Aaden and Claire are awkward, neither really knows how to respond to the other. As they get to know each other, things get a bit better, but it becomes more and more obvious everyday that they are both hiding something. Normalcy exists: Is something I've been writing for years, and am actually very close to finished with. I've been wanting to start it over and change a lot of things from how I had them in the beginning. I think my writing skills have improved since I started writing it (by a lot!) and I think I actually have a pretty good chance of finishing at some point xD. So, for what it's about: Maya is 15, and just starting at a new school, the summer before was the worst of her entire life. She's never had it too easy, her dad dying when she was little, her mom remarrying soon after to a guy that was none too amazing. she made it through life as a pretty average person, she had friends at school, got good grades, dealt with her family like all the other kids did. Until things took a very sharp turn for the worse. After Maya tells her mother that she was raped, everything changes, she disappears, her brother Ryan has no idea what to do and has no idea why this happened. Derek hasn't changed at all and seems to be delusional, thinking that she will come back. And somehow in the midst of it all, she gets herself stuck in an anger management class for yelling at her teacher. The class is small, considered by most of the staff to be a sort of joke. Maya is the only girl and extremely uncomfortable at first, but slowly realizes that they all have their own issues even if they are completely different from each other's. The story focuses on different relationships, friendship, romance, family, and how Maya's are all affected by what happened to her. Hope you enjoy! I feel like I will probably be focusing on this more than the other... but who knows! Look Underneath Their eyelids: a poem i finally feel like I got right. The theme may be hard to get from the abstractness, but it is meant to be about sexual abuse, how it goes unnoticed, and unreported, and how it affects people. We Are They: This story is about Catherine, a 13 year old girl in eighth grade. She lost her father over the summer and goes to live with her cousin Evan. She wishes she could just blend into the back ground and be unnoticed, but evan mores than the usual amount of attention to her. He wants to help her, he feels like he's the only one in their family that could remotely understand her having lost his wife three years before. But she is nothing like what he expects, she barely speaks, and he has never once seen or heard her cry since her dad died. He wants to find out why, but Catherine will not let it be that easy. Catherine becomes friends with Mackenzie and Austin at school, two kids she has more in common with than she expected when she met them. She ignores her problems as much as she can because she doesn't want to deal with them, but she discovers being friends with Mackenzie makes it impossible not to think about her messed up life. Mean while, Evan's band, We Are They, are in a very large slump, starting roughly after his wife died he hasn't been able to write a single song worth finishing. The story is about them facing their own issues and figuring out how to deal with them, it focuses mainly on Catherine. P.S. All the chapter titles are songs. | |||||||
