Author has written 2 stories for Horror. Hi, I'm Al. I don't really have a reason to fill this out other than I hate when people don't put anything on their page. It irritates me. Erm, Yes, About Me Favorite Books- I guess it's sort of important to know this, seeing as a lot of my writing, plots and style, are influenced by what I read. I love the His Dark Materials Series by Phillip Pullman, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kasey and a lot of Stephen King. My two favorite King books are Insomnia and Rose Madder, wich I find funny because King is famous for his horror, but those two are closer to fantasy. I also read a lot of manga. Not really relevant, but I felt like mentioning it. Music- My three favorite bands are Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and My Chemical Romance. On a sidenote, I hate when people use emo stereotypes. If you use the actual meaning of the word (one who listens to emo music; it's a genre people!) then I am emo! I'm also loud, not shy in the slightest, horrible at writing poetry and do not cut myself! Sorry, mini-rant over. Back to music, what I listen too most while writing is Queen, Blue October and Rise Against with a few other bands mixed in for good measure. I've also been on kind of an oldies kick recently and getting back into music I liked when I was little. Ex. REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Styx, The Police and Led Zepplin to name a few. TV/Movies- My favorite show is definitely Stargate SG1, but I don't watch it as much as I used to. I also haven't really gotten into the spinoffs either. My second Fav. is Supernatural, because OMG (sorry for the chatspeak but it had to be done) Kripke must own my soul by this point. Doctor Who and Scrubs finish up the list, because I spend an unhealthy amount of time on my computer and can't watch much TV. My favorite movie has got to be The Princess Bride, it's so amazing. Pirates, true love, evil princes, torture, epic speaches... I really can't explain much more than that without going on a rant that takes up my entire page. I read the abridged book too, if that matters to anyone. I also like Big Fish (and I want to read the damn book but I can't find it!), Chasing Amy and Moulin Rouge. Random stuff- Uh... for one I usually don't write like this in my stories, I just like parenthesis a lot. And run on sentences. And I sometimes ignore grammar in order to emphasize a point, so sorry if that bugs you. Also, I can't plan out my stories beforehand. It kills them for me. Normally I get an idea, crank the tunes, and just start writing. So yeah, I get some pretty random plotlines going. Moving on... Stories- Okay, I finally posted, and I plan on posting more. So I've decided to rationalize my stories. Because; Why the hell not? Being You- My first posted story, and I wanted to write it from what wasn't obviously a human perspective, but still intelligent. It switches between first and second person, my attempt at sounding like the voice in your head. Dahlia Hunting- Yeah, I write f_cked up stuff. But I did combine two things; One, Vampires, something everyone on this site has or will write about; and two, hookers, which I personally have wanted to write about for a while. Dunno why. I like it anyway. Final Note- I basically fail at reveiw replies, and generally I'll only reply if I get asked a question. But I want everyone who reveiws my stories to know that I really appreciate it, and even a one sentence reveiw makes my day, so thank you. | |||||||
1. Dahlia Hunting reviewsArnold Smith's wife falsely accused him of cheating, so he's set on making her an honest woman. He ends up with more than he bargained for.
